For me it depends on my mood. A lot of the time I have to really want to study in order to be able to sit down, study, and not let myself get distracted. But on average, I probably study 3-4 hours a day.

I tend to vary my studying habits a lot. Some days, I study for 4 or five hours. Then other days I don't study at all. I try to get 2 or 3 hours on average.

I went to a study habits thing at my school. For every credit hour you are suppose to spend like 3 or 5 hours studying outside of class. It means that for a full time credit load, you need to study a lot.

I'd say 3-4 hours. :] I'll agree with ivorykeys, it depends on the mood for me. And if the friends aren't distracting me.

Ahaha... my first year i barely studied, just crammed and push everything till the last minute. That didn't work very well, so hopefully, I'll setup more time to study for my classes.

I should study way more than I do. Like, its late tonight, and tomorrow I have a quiz. But I really didn't study as much as I should've. The internet is too much of a distraction with my laptop right on my desk. If I actually have to study something, I go to the library.

Depends on mood i guess, i sometimes tend to go on a studying spree when i barely go out or do something that's not related to school... But usually i'm just loosing concentration too easily and everything eventually fails sooner or later; well at least until the last moments, when the stress and other stuff makes you have to study hard; it's usually bit too late though ;p

I wish I could say I don't study much but I'm a physics major and have studied over 16 hours in one day for a single test. Last semester I had a radiation and optics take home final that took me over 30 hours to complete DX

When I take biology/chemistry/psychology/geology type classes I study for less than an hour for tests and usually get A's but physics and math classes are another story =__=

1-2 hours.

That should be going up soon, since I'm going to be having papers and projects and such.

I picked a major with a lot of reading, so it will probably be going up permanently.

My English classes in high school always had a bunch of jocks that liked to not shut up. Except my first year, best English class by far, I actually liked the teacher too. Of course, that was when the Trade Center attacks happened too, so a good week was wasted thanks to that.

I don't think I ever really studied to be honest, it was mostly just short reviews of stuff at the last minute. I've never been one for studying, and I've been fine like that. Tests were never that big a thing for me.

6-8 hours a day. Mostly theatre work, but I also have to include psychology and physics. 3:

I'm doing contemporary fine arts so there's not really any text books as such or study for that matter. "Study" consists of drawing, painting, sculpture, digital etc... though I do essays and presentations etc... but the time I spend doing drawing, painting, writing essays and such probably 2 hours or less.
That's not everyday though ><" It should be, but its not Y_Y

most good professors i know dont give a crap if you show up to class or not, they get paid the same anyways... and its your loss if you dont show up... so i dont understand the professors that make it mandatory to show up for class... hell, my friends have had a professor that said on the first day of class "this is the only time we actually meet except for the final, just read the stuff i give you online and take the online quizzes, then show up for the final because if you dont, its school policy to give a WF grade." i found it hilarious.

@elc lucky you, i had a prof that based the grade on the quality of your notes. Yep he checked our notebooks at the very end and compared whether they were handwritten or just printed from his slideshows.... sick i'd say...

some people are fixated on importance of what they are teaching, so when there are not many people attending they feel being ignored...

you do realize that many professors know their material well, yet cant teach for crap right? thats how universities work, many of the professors are there for the research, and dont give a shit about their students that they teach... its scary true at my university... for engineering... most of the professors ive met know what they are doing very much, yet when i had problems or their students have problems understanding or doing the assignments, they either feel insulted or are of little or no help... its extremely annoying if you ask me...

I don't know how I've managed to survive in university thus far - I don't really study.
Oh, I do all my assignments, and if I have a exam/quiz then I will study the day/night before, but other than that, I don't really do much school work. >< I'm the kind of person who needs the last-minute pressure to get school work done. ^^'

Studying is boring.
I usually never study and cram when it counts.
When I do cram, I go insane. I read over 300 pages of a politics text in 2 days.
Science(other than physics; the lowest grade I've got in college so far) and math are easy for me, so I usually understand it right away... without studying much.

It's best to study the professor instead of going over everything.

About 4-5 hours for me. More on some days... depends on my schedule, really. I'm a painfully slow reader, and of course, most of the classes I take assign lots of reading each week. And I'm the type of person who feels I *need* to understand the text thoroughly, since most of my classes are discussion rather than lecture-based. Friday nights are my only real break... sometimes Saturday, if I really push it, but then Sunday is usually hell.

The amount I study is really dependent on the difficulty of the class. Normally try to get as many hours in 2-3 days before a normal exam, end up getting less as I get distracted easily. I should probably try to study more throughout the week...-_-;
