Babasare? I remember watching this episode like 7 or 8 years ago on TV. Was I scared or what?

The best episode so far in my opinion. This one actually had potential to be creepy if it wasn't for the dub. Christian Slater's career xD

jesus goburimon-
that wasn't her brother in the opening, was it?
heck, that was a friggin intense opening ^_^'!

by now, i'm getting some 50/50 higurashi-vibes from this, it's not -as- bad, but it's getting closer slowly ^_^''''
kinda as if they were directed -roughly- towards the same kind of audience .w.'

"Fuck your talisman" <--is what that sort of answer told me _X3

Amanojaku used the power of Suggestion
it was Super effective
_XD

oohhh, that ending >D
but really, it's like how they've played Freddy Krueger in some of nightmare on Elm Street movies; if you're not scared of him/don't believe in him, he gets no power and can't do shit ^_^-

The joke that got me the most was when Jesus girl assumed the knocks were Satan's cult the Jehovah witness's.

The way they ditched the retarded kid was horrible?! What was the sub reason for that! I felt bad watching.

The whole joke built around main girls dad being an alcoholic, not paying the bills, and being afraid of checking the mail because of his unpaid bills was awesome.

It was great to see the kids beat the living crap out of the ghost this time. Stomach punch to head dunk in hot water.

I would love this show in sub as a kid. It reminds me of Martin Mystery. This episode would have messed me up though. The idea monsters are only as scary as you make this is great but the way they never confront it definitively and it comes back at the end would stay in my mind and give me the opposite message.

Really funny and scary episode honestly.

This episode is pretty bad, as in their thinking and actions drop by on level.

Why left the younger brother alone in the house when they already know the rumor, and when they experience so many things?

There are a few more things but I cant remember their names, hope they become smarter.

Halfway through this episode, I was hoping that this particular spirit's trope would be that they knocked on the doors of children whose parents weren't home, and harmed the kid if they opened the door ... which remains true ... BUT, I was hoping that the spirit's weakness would be that they couldn't actually enter the homes of the children. If the door was open or if the children stepped outside, then they'd be vulnerable. But I was hoping the victim could remain safe is they kept the door shut and locked. Since the ghost is only perceptible to children and thus dissipates in the presence of adults, I'm guessing anything is possible. If children believe that not opening the door to the spirit would keep them safe, then it should technically be possible if the ghost is a manifestation of the imagination.

Now, I know none of this is the case, and the episode played out very differently. But I have to say, I'm disappointed with how it turned out. How, if the ghost wanted to, it could use its scythe to bust a hole through doors and walls. Which defeats the purpose of it knocking on doors and impersonating others. It was kind of lame how its weakness was water... and yet, it absolutely wasn't. Water temporarily melts it, but then it just returns, still capable of inflicting harm. Also, I am indeed aware that this series is influenced by the literary material, which was influenced by a compilation of real ghost stories. So I don't know if there's an actual urban legend governing how this episode played out. Regardless:

I shoulda been a writer for this show. My idea is so much more clever. ;) JUST ENVISION IT! How funny/interesting would it be if the spirit's niche was haunting/terrorizing children who were home alone, but being incapable of entering their home unless they can 1. convince the children to open the door (maybe via impersonation), or 2. lure the children outside, like it did with that one girl in the episode. With such a weakness, though, I'm not sure how the plot would've progressed. The children would easily be able to evade the ghost if this were its weakness. I know there needs to be a good conflict.

But come on. Just picture it fam.

Here I was wondering how they are going to explain all the damage and it turned out it was all in their imagination.
