It does have social elements (clubs, friend lists, and of course the forums) but is far from a social networking site like myspace (and facebook, I think is a newer one? Never been there myself. After seeing Myspace I never want to see another social networking site again.) I've made a couple friends from MAL, but I make friends in every community I'm a part of. It's a natural occurrence, regardless of the focus of the community. Doesn't need to be explicitly stated. |

But i quickly started to meet some just fantastic people and so i love it here! We need a huge mansion somewhere and our own MAL house! |

| I like how I can keep track of all these animes I want to watch and have already watched. For example, I might see some new anime that takes my fancy, but then a few days later I might forget what it's called, which is why having a list is so neat. Speaking of new animes, this site has also been helpful for me in finding stuff I might like. Also, I like to rate things. |
| I'd say the best thing is definitely the ability to customize my own list. <3 I don't participate in tournaments, and I'm only just spreading out on the forums. But I can spend hours designing and watching more anime to add to the list. |
