| Anime are watched by almost everyone where I come from, and I'd say its rather 50/50. However this poll is biased as most pple on MYANIMELIST are guys. AND girls are more likely to be casual fans and thus less likely to join anime communities such as this. |

| demography depends,but i find that most people who download and watch anime are males,while females preferably watch in tv,may be because the way content is found online,girls though not dumb are least likely to download and search for anime and also install video codecs for specific format by searching for them,and hence participate in discussions and so forth,and girls care less of voicing their view they would much rather prefer to watch anime and move on,than like guys to register in a forum and discuss |

Based on the stats provided, for MAL, it would be: 1.26 based on this poll, or 1.30 based on MAL's forum statistic So I'd say 1.3 is a fair statistic. | Depends on the genre I guess. The only people I know personally who watch anime are female, but on the internet it's usually mostly male. Anime-style MMORPG players are usually male as well. |

| In my regular day to day, I see a vast majority of guys that watch anime. I know alot of chicks that like western comics, but I've only heard of anime loving females online. I've made a mental note to start going to anime conventions and the like just so I can meet more females that are fans(not to date, because I'm taken, but just to see them for real.) |
