| Yeah, most. I'm completely open about it among my friends, almost to the point of bragging. I even watch some anime with some of my friends sometimes. I've also tried to get some of my non-anime friends into anime, but with minimal success. One of them is particularly stubborn with his hate of all things anime. Halo Legends did not help the matter due a certain... misunderstanding. |

My parents don't know because i watch during night time when they're asleep, or I watch when they're not home because if they found out they'd totally bitch and be like you know your eye sight is going to get really bad by the time ur 20-30 and what not. I'd like to make some friends that watch anime and are normal ppl at my school, but most of the people are just creeps that are like addicted to yu gi oh and pokemon and stuff. |

| @OP: Well, that's no fun =/ I mean, my family knows and they're rather indifferent about it. Granted, all I watch is subbed stuff. But I'm p.sure if I were to show them some dubbed stuff, they might take some interest. My friends were into anime long before I was. However, I like to believe I played a role in them getting into it a bit more :3 Once I started DL'ing anime and watching it, it sorta caught on. As of now, I have 619.95 GB downloaded :3 I agree. It's p.awesome that there are people who are open about it and share. |

Well, something like that. I don't have any friends that are interested in anime at the moment. It might be nice to have one, I think, but then I would just get caught up on talking to them on the phone about anime all day. x3 |
| To be honest, not a lot of my friends know. Not because I'm closed off about it, I just don't bring it up unless somebody asks what I like to do. Plus, none of my friends watch it so it would just be pointless to bring it up in a conversation with them. |

I mean, I understand anime can take up quite a bit of your time and stuff...but for your parents to know it will is something else :p I'm mainly interested in anime because of the stories, thoughts and ideas, comedic aspects of it (along with many more). If it gets my mind going, I'll enjoy it. Well, due to lack of friends who are as interested in anime as you are, you have the MAL community :3 |

I've just recently started to be active and I'm glad I can relate to so many people. And talk a lot more about anime. |

| Both my friends and parents know. My closest friends also watch anime and the others are decent enough to respect my tastes, plus my parents are very open about things so there's no problem there. My mum even lets me know if any Ghibli movies are going to be on TV if she comes across them in the TV Guide. |

I first got into anime since I was 7-8 years old back in 1997 and that was through Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing among other show on the Toonami programming block and Digimon, al of which were on television back then. At the same time, not only did my closest friends also watch those same shows on television, but I don't think I knew anyone around my age who didn't watch anime fist thing on TV after getting on home of a weekday afternoon, saturday morning, saturday evening by 2004, or late nights. Or at least I didn't know anyone who wasn't aware of it. I even knew girls, including one of my friends who's "go-to" show back then was Sailor Moon. I think in 2010 when most anime shows to watch are on the internet, some kids can find anime if they're resourceful enough, but it's not as if anime comes to them like on television so I can imagine that not a lot of kids these days know anime exist. I remember once visiting my old elementary school where my mom teaches 3rd grade and I think I remember asking all the kids in class if they ever watched anime. I was dumbfounded to know only ONE kid said he does and mentioned one of Hayao Miyazaki's films as an example. |
