In the anime Aokiji actually appears before the Davy Back fight and tbh I much prefer how he just randomly shows up here.

I went back through the panels and Aokiji was totally there the whole time that Luffy was giving the flag to Tonjit (to avenge Sherry)! Oda has such great attention to detail!
Also, Luffy is so nice to try a peaceful ending to the Davy Back Fight. And, the Fox Pirates are SO LESS annoying than their anime counterparts, by a landslide. I really wish that the anime would have made this arc as short as the manga, but alas...

Luffy won and took their flag!!! but he drew them a really bad one so they can still sail lol!

They return to the old mans house but... Admiral Aokiji is here!?!?!?!? and he also knows Robin??? why is he here!?!?!?

Thank god this arc is over, it was pretty painful, but now things are rapidly heating up with Aokiji and Robin. Robin never shows this much emotion..
