With movies they want people to feel immersed and in the movie and 3D can create this.

3D has been used before in cinemas I think, but the glasses used to be a lot tackier than thay are now. Anyway it seems to have finally caught on, was prob only a matter of time, same with 4D in the future. It costs far too much money for the add-on charge for watching 3D films, and then paying for the glasses separately. I hear people at the cinema arguing about it when I go. Anyway some films do look really improved in 3D like Avatar and Beowulf (for different reasons :) But some films dont need it like Green Hornet. Why was that in 3d? Was a good film without it. I didnt know it was 3d until I saw everyone else wearing specks! I guess its done the same in America. Does give me a headache though...

4Ds scare me. Whenever I go to Disneyland to watch some of them, I try cover my face with my arms whenever they splash me with water and spray me with wind. And they are at times unpredictable.

3D's are overrated, the glasses itch my nose.

2D's all the way. I only believe in 2D's.

3D movies always give me a headache. I do not think they are that much better either.

It's the age of technology. Just wait till all our TV screens will be converted into 3D and practically everything else. Hurry up and make holographic games!

Pretty much. Seriously, why all this hype about 3D? I don't see what's so amazing about it. Many movies I'm interested in are on theatres in 3D only (Resident Evil Extinction, Priest, Drive Angry, just to name a few), without even giving spectators the choice of a 2D watch. It irritates me. Fuck you, 3D.

well, when we go to the cinema and watch a 3D film you have to pay 80p for 3D glasses. So chances are thats a good portion of the reason as to why 3D films are popping up everywhere. An extra 80p for every customer adds up when you have millions of customers.

Of course this isn't the only reason. But I'm sure its factored in.

Hmm..
3D sucks because they are no different then the 2D, expensive where you hardly don't get much 3D crap in your face and hate wearing those dorky glasses since now it's like a fashion trend for kids lol although watching sci-fi movies with 3D is not bad I must say so I don't mind that :)

Because it gives more money. I don't like most movies in 3D, I usually think that the 3D ruins it

Because idiots will pay extra to see it, why not cash in?

Personally I have only found a very small minority of films I have seen in 3D to be of any benefit to the experience.

3D for the most part is unneeded and therefore should not be included.
