| A 73-year-old man has confessed to holding his daughter captive in his home cellar for nearly 24 years and fathering seven children by her, Austrian police say. Austrian police spokesman Franz Polzer says the man, known as Mr. F., has admitted holding his daughter hostage for more than two decades and raping her repeatedly. He also told police that one of the children he fathered by his daughter Elisabeth F was a twin who died. The dead baby's body was burned in an oven inside the house, Mr. F. told detectives. "He admitted that he locked his daughter, who was 18 at the time, in the cellar, that he repeatedly had sex with her, and that he is the father of her seven children," Polzer told The Associated Press. | I know he'll probably be dead before his time in jail is up... but the court will set a bad example for other criminals who are doing similar things. There are probably some guys in their 20s... 30s... 40s... or whatever, doing similar things. If they hear the penalty is just 15 years, they'll lose somewhat their fear of getting caught. Of course, this is just what I think. |

| I'm also in favor of public humiliation. Force them to wear a shirt or hat that identifies them as a sex offender. Branding could also work. In some states in they are trying to make it so that pederasts must have identifying license plates. |

| Just got done reading the full story... and all I can say is "Wow, what the fuck is wrong with people." I can't imagine what all the daughter and children had to go through, just so... crazy. That guy really deserves to be beaten to death; I normally do not think that people deserve such a fate as death, but... that is beyond wrong. I can not imagine how anyone could ever think of doing something like that to anyone, especially someone such as a daughter whom they are supposed to love and protect. What is worse, the children the daughter all have were out of incest, and I highly doubt it was consensual, especially if she was drugged and handcuffed in the 'dungeon'. It also said he started molesting his daughter when she was only 11, that is just... so wrong. It's just makes me sick, to think of some of the things people do to each other. |

| I saw this on the news earlier this week, was pretty interesting. Lots of wtf's in between though. EDIT: Red the full article, and wow, that's disturbing and disgusting. I don't know how the remaining kids that were "raised" underground are going to cope with the outside world, their mentality must be already fucked up. The man deserves death of the highest degree. |

| My friend and I just saw this and thought if you had 24 years of being locked up by your father wouldn't you be training the whole time like doing sit ups and push ups just overpowered him when came to check on you I did read that she was drugged and handcuffed but still for 24 years you should of had to had some free time but if she didn't I don't think you would be able to think or move your arms if you were drugged and handcuffed for that long I think with just 5 years of doing physical training a female could over power a 55-60 year old male I'm not blaming her but I didn't see or read that she had tried to escape or at least try SOMETHING to get out |

| yeh i was shocked aswell, reminded me off the similar thing that occured in Germany, only this is all inside one family, it's crazy. indeed his victims will never overcome a trauma like that it's just inhumane on a crazy scale... yeh these are the times i really hate it that death-sentence isnt used (dunno if its allowed there though) torturing well...im a bit divided on the use of it though i'd just rather have the guy hung on a tree or something |

One thing I don't like about the "Justice" system in western countries is that so much effort is put into protecting criminals and rehabilitating them, but no one cares about the victims. This girl suffered so much, and many want to be magnanamous with the criminal even though they are not the victims. The girl spent 20 years in captivity, ignoring everything that happened to her, and this guy gets 15 years in jail. If someone kills someone else out of pure malice, that guy should get the death penalty. |
| The torture and stuff isn't simply just about retributiion, but detterence as well. Hoping that other people considering this type of crime will see the punishment and decide it's not worth it. And rehabilitation does not work on 74 year old man who locked up his daughter for over 20 years and constantly raped her. |
