Do you lack patience in waiting.

•Have you ever got caught by the traffic lights or by a cop doing so?
• Has it ever led to a car accident involving you or someone else?
• When are there some instances where you think it's ok to run a red light?

No cop no stop. I don't run red lights if I don't have too. If I'm responding to call and the light goes red, I'll run it. If not, only if I'm in that weird stage of am I too close to the light to stop without slamming on my brakes.

Be safe and well travels,
Chris

Only ever ran a red light once... and it was cuz the car infront of me ran a red light and i followed it thinking it was green! Traffick light was in a blind spot from where i was, only noticed it was red while i was passing it 💀

There are only 3 scenarios where it's acceptable to run a red light
- You're driving an ambulance
- You're driving a fire truck
- You're driving a police car

I won't even include if it's an emergency, cuz if you don't have the skill, reflexes, and self control, let alone under stress, you'll likely do more harm to yourself and those around you

I've never run a red light once in my entire life.

Proof? I don't have a driver's license. I don't even know the basics of how to drive. I'm mildly behind the curve on that. c:

Depends on how much momentum I have going. I try not to run them, but if it's yellow and I'm just about at the stoplight I'll usually look left and right to make sure there are no police and just gun it. XD

It highly depends on the situation

I've ran redlights during midnights where I know the place very well, with good visibility on both sides and there's 0% chance of getting caught.

I never run it during daytime, or even midnights where I'm not familiar with the area.

I may have done that accidentally once or twice, but otherwise no.

You probably shouldn't run red lights ever. Though I say this as someone who lives in a large city. But if you're going to do it, probably do it when the perpendicular street is not busy.

With a car? Almost never

With a bike? Rarely
No, this isn't my signature.

I keep hearing "depends on how much momentum" "if i don't need to slam on the breaks"... you do realize those breaks work perfectly fine in short distances up to 60km/h, reason why that's generally the speed limit in areas with pedestran crossings?

No, I never drive through a red light. Saving a minute isn't really worth someone's life.

I only break the rules when I'm sure I still have control of the situation. But the problem with traffic lights is that you are not the only one watching them, haha.

Running red lights is a very deadly habit, in my opinion. Responsible driving is about making the process automatic - if you turn it into some over-complicated thinking exercise, that's no good.

@LoveYourSmile Only sensible post, and with great insights. I've known one person who died in a wreck at 18 and a poor girl who got brain damage at like 12 years old getting hit on her bike. What needless wastes for dumb reasons. Running a light for a job that doesn't even care about you.

Speeding, texting while driving, and running lights should result in a public ass kicking in the townsquare.

Haha, maybe you are a bit quick to praise me - you might want to kick me in that town square as well: I'll admit I can drive a bit tipsy, and I like to speed.

But only when I know - not just think or feel - that I'm risking only my own life. For example, on an empty highway with guardrails and no intersections.

If there is any doubt, I switch to full cautious mode and drop the bravado. No matter how well I drive or how well the car feels, mistakes happen - nobody is perfect.

I'll bet my own life for a thrill sometimes, but never someone else's. I don't play in debt, only with my own stakes.

I've never run a red light, but I have been caught for speeding. It's such a risky move for a collision, and considering so many lights have cameras these days, you don't need cops around.
