Because I think I have, I’ve never had acne or major pimple breakouts like the rest of my family. I get maybe one pimple every few months, and that’s it. My younger brother has acne and always asks me how I do it. What's your version of winning the genetic lottery? |

That is influenced by things other than genetics too though. I don't know. I don't really feel likeI have something to boast over nor would I really care to much if I did. |

Yeah, kind of. The only things I could have had better genetically in terms of attractiveness are my hair and skin, and even they aren't that terrible since I don't think I'll be going bald before like at least 50, my hair is generally very thick, and I haven't had acne problems. |

Well the plus side is I've still got a full head of hair at 37, with only a slight thinning spot at the back. I would have gotten that from my Dad's side. But other than that no lol. I was poisoned by pesticides whilst in the womb, that and being premature wrecked my development and gave me a shit immune system. 3 of my immediate family members were also poisoned, but I guess this doesn't really count as genetic, although I worry if I could pass something on, but so far it's not an issue and don't know if I could really find it out, as there's a cover-up and lots of denials involved in all that. My family also has had issues with mental health and heart problems, and I know I also have problems with my heart, but again that was mainly down to the poisoning. [Edit] also I forgot that I don't have great skin and burn in the sun easily, although not as badly as my sister does. That was from our Dad, but for some reason he didn't mind getting sunburnt lol. |

I can eat and be lazy as much as I want, and I always stay in ideal weight range, probably because I have superior metabolic genes. |

I wouldn't call not having acne genetic lottery tbh, it majorly depends on your skin care routine as well. (I've never had acne either) The only genetic lottery I've won is my high testosterone levels. I put on muscle mass a lot more easily than most of my friends and have got very specific muscles that are much stronger than the average, for example my shoulders, hamstrings, forearms, etc. Although I wouldn't exactly call my high testosterone really a lottery win, considering I have to deal with a lot of body hair. |

@Zarutaku You probably don't eat enough in specific days. Fast metabolism is influenced a lot by hormone levels, height, and overall weight. The bulkier and taller you are, the faster you burn calories, but the rate which you burn calories is usually overestimated, especially if you don't track your daily calories. |

@SimplyBrazen I eat enough to satisfy my cravings, I'm 185cm tall and have always weighed below 80kg, so I'm not bulky at all, I don't even lift bro :P |

I'm beautiful as elf tbh lol (thanks daddy, you shitter, hope your deathbed is full of sharp rocks). But gaining/loosing weight easily, so I have to watch my diet and train all the time, such a burden! Realized that flaw when our first got born and I got like +10 kilos in 3 months, no fun. Also, shitty pale skin that burns even on a cloudy day. Not much to whine about, one may say - but somehow our flaws hit the spot. Like, I literally hate fat people, and spend most of the time at the sunshine, haha. The god is a such a perverted lady really, she could give me a weaker liver, for instance, to keep me away from drinking - but no, bitch! I'll tell her all I think about her jokes after we have fun when I die to skin cancer or heart attack. |

@LoveYourSmile Don't worry, I had no plans to talk about my genetics in detail, it's not much of a good idea to disclose that much about myself (then again, I probably info-dumped all of it somewhere on MAL before and just don't remember). The blood moon made you think of me, you say? That would almost sound romantic if it weren’t probably more related to my penchant for bloody scenarios. |

Appearance and genetics are very overrated, especially for men. The real fact is that the only thing that matters in this society is the amount of money and social status. Everything else is just like bonus. Win in terms of appearance in the genetic lottery will give you practically nothing, but if you have a predisposition to, for example, IT, then you can become a successful IT specialist and earn a lot of money (Well, ok, looks can matter if you decide to become an actor or a model or a blogger.) Appearance really matters only for women since society judges women primarily by appearance. Also what i wrote now is not my desire, these are just facts and do not mean that i like how everything is in this life |

@fleurbleue Yeah, yeah, don't expose too much. Who knows if some weirdo is dreaming of planting his bizarre Kartoffeln amidst your accurate potato bed. Anyway, everything is romantic in some way. Remember, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The Moon was really nice - I was counting stars for digits, but got distracted at 370 or so. Eibsee is beautiful at the full Moon, you should visit it, really. Not the Moon itself , I mean... or maybe I don't. |

I gained some and lost some. Both of my parents are currently retired people from food and catering industries and I definitely won the genetic lottery for advanced taste buds. I can taste food accurately while blocking my sense of smell at the same time. Almost got diabetes and gained a lot of weight when I was 9-ish due to my obsession with food and suddenly lost weight and recovered my blood sugar level by joining a youth athletic club. However, I got the unfortunate genetic lottery of having urinary incontinence due to multiple hormone-related problems (leading to damaged nerves) and some faulty sphincter muscles, hence I'm diapered 24/7 since attending middle school. I just got used to it. fleurbleue said: @LoveYourSmile Well the thread is about genetics, going outside more won't change anything about what's wrong inside of me. TLDR, you're fine. |

You know how to scare me, right? Haha. More seriously, people don't *talk* much about their sexual things at the first acquaintance irl. But when they face it... they just accept (or run). But honestly, I have never met a single one running away from mine (well, maybe besides my wifey - but that's justified at least, haha). |

Tbh I don't think I won the genetic lottery at all haha. I'm only glad that I have freckles because I like them, other than that I need to wear glasses and my back tends to break out with acne[?] [no idea how to call it] which I probably got from my dad and I need to someday got to the dermatologist to try and chill it. [tbh It's not that bad for me, but It's certaintly not pretty either] - still at least the skin on my face rarely breaks out and I don't use any cosmetics on it either so that's a win. My hair is annoying as fuck tho, so I guess whenever I can find a genetic win, I can easily find another downside - so It's a 50/50 for me. Could have been worse, but It's not bad either. |
