This is supposed to be a "Turning Point" episode?

Marie & Shion fighting their father also reminds me off Rudy v Paul fights. Even same Quagmire move.
Literal ghost appearing now wow, wished animation was better.

Anything happens to Maire I swear...
But now don't give me incurable disease or what don't Rem her. Power of incest/love/magic whatever cure Maire.

Great episode!
They did a great job at animating the manga escape through the forest rain fighting the monster part.
In the manga while interesting it was missing the action.
Finally seeing that chase scene animated is quite satisfying.

That banshee or whatever was genuinely unsettling, I liked a lot that moment when Marie told Shion that is all fun and games but he is a force of change and should think about it, Pandora's box has been opened it seems.

Interesting episode, and not sure if the "Big Bad" related to the red magic energy in the sky will suddenly emerge in the second half of the season?

I kind of thought the show would more just continue with incremental changes in the magic the MC can use episode to episode as it has been up until now, but the stakes suddenly went up a lot, and also had a crazy ghost monster introduced.

(Also it was kind of funny when the dad was shouting like "Shion?!? What's happening back there??!?" during the ghost chase while Shion was – from his father's view – just screaming crazily in the back of the wagon for no apparent reason ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜†)

Ugh... so many still frames this episode.

Ending was supposed to be sad and dramatic but turned out so cringe (we can all guess MC will use magic to fix shit eventually). Like, when he starts begging doctor to do something about an unknown new illness/epidemic (as if doctor is stupid and lazy; or it's that easy lol), or like you have buttloads of people experiencing the same pain as you (having a family member paralyzed) and MC is crying about how unfair it is HIS sister got paralyzed (F everyone else?). Did story forget MC is reincarnated grown-ass man? His reaction would've made sense if he was just an average kid, which isn't the case.

Dunno, to me it was cringe precisely because of how childishly stupid his drama moment was portrayed.

So now it's a rom-com
He's making eyes at his sister through the whole first 10 minutes
Then when practicing more generic magic spells, Sis-chan falls ill.
Sleeping sickness, well that sounds interesting- so Otosa-kun says he's taking her to some nearby town that has a hospital, and Shion insists on going with him.

It's raining, they're in a carriage with just one horse, then they get attacked by wolves with red eyes. The wolves clear out though when this flying witch thing with mouth open starts chasing them.... so here I thought this could actually be a dramatic moment, you have a scary thing happening that maybe the MC can't defeat- could have gotten pretty interesting if it had been a threat (it wasn't)

So they get to the hospital only for Doc Sly to tell them he can't really do anything....
The scenes where he fantasizes about her were on point for this anime
But the peak was the guy who voiced the goblin

2/5. Better than the previous episodes but still garbage.

She didn't become ugly is just that the little bit of quality the show had went down the drain, her face becomes an almost perfect circle on some frames, my guess is due to the short hair.

This episode animation got so bad I was laughing my ass off through the whole thing, Shion even got 6 fingers or an incredibly long thumb in one scene.

An actually solid episode. That chase scene, while not animated that well, was really fun and engaging. I’ll bet that lethargy sickness is caused by that wave of magic in the sky (pretty obvious) but it might be either a powerful monster or someone who understood magic before Shion and cast some sort of spell to drain life energy or something. Not sure why it didn’t target Rose, I kind of figured it might be related to higher levels of magical energy. Hopefully he figures it out and resolves it next episode, I don’t like when these things get drawn out.

@Hylianticipated hint it has to do with what the magic lamp reveals.

If I say anything more it'll be a spoiler.
If you read the manga, you'll know the real reason why the victims falls into a lethargy state.

bruh shion has been shown to be mentally an adult still with the maturity to match (chuuni things aside), yet he broke down like a little kid at the end

I don't mind a world where reincarnation makes you regress partially due to brain size and hormones, but that needs to be consistent. he hasn't showed that before.

This was a good episode, connecting the "magic" world with the non-"magic" world, and using the new lights as the catalyst, so even the father could see the "magical" being, that was interesting.

Well if it was him that was sick, nothing could be done, but if her sickness is related to "magic", then he should a least be able to take time to investigate.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Damn bro. I'd love that to be like a Mana related thing, that can be cured by Shion. Maybe he's finally gonna be known. Though that will probably cause problems aswell, like in any Isekai/ fantasy

This series should have had a way higher budget. If it had, it could become one of the biggest isekai series. The writing is much better than most shows out there, but unfortunately gets ignored since the production quality is very low compared to the quality of its plot.

Amazing! We are getting world building, and that humanoid-ghost-monster was creepy... ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

I'm actually disappointed about the time skip, but it has to happen eventually—if MC stopped developing something after acquiring his long-held dream of using magic.

Anyway, the characters' still have depth in them, even their father.

P.S. Will probably have a nightmare after watching the creepy character this episode... ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

P.S. #2 I gotta love Marie's new dress.

P.S. #3 Yeah, the main characters look like they grew-up, but MC somehow didn't grow taller...

Nah. The ending was not cringe in the slightest. It was seriously a tearjerker(but the animation could be better), especially if you like the story as much as I am, as well as the other characters.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I mean it was pretty obvious the lamps would involved in some capacity considering it was one of the things specifically pointed at to defeat the ghosts in the episode. It’s clear they’ll be relevant again.

I believe Shion will be able to heal Marie. The lethargic sickness must have been caused by magical energy, and he only needs to purify it. He will be a hero once he also heals the other patients.

The 2-year timeskip for the kids growing up to the age of 12, they've grown to be more capable than ever, even being able to match up against their father bit by bit. Even with Rose, collecting silkworm bugs is one thing, but Marie just falling unconscious, paints a grim picture.

The lethargy sickness that has plagued the kingdom, now affecting Marie, unfortunately has no cure, that even in the dead of night, Shion wrangling with his father to reach Istria ASAP, the day could not have gone any worse with a rather big pack of Bloody Wolves chasing after them, plus a ghost apparition that Shion can only witness, if not for the Lightning Lamp that enables him to see like his son does.

Still, lazy sickness for a person, let alone a child, Marie is already in a vegetable state that would hurt Shion all the more.

There are a lot of things that bother me about stories like this where you've got a very old person, even if they've been sent to another world. But in this situation, taking into consideration the fact that it's a person who's 30 years old, why is she crying? As if she's a person who looks her age when she's really not You've got the mentality of someone who's 30, you shouldn't technically lose your temper! Yes, at that moment, if he wasn't crying, you'd have said he was a bit insensitive, but he can be just as angry, and asking questions isn't the same as crying. He's almost the same age as his father, mentally speaking!
