The concept of a demon probably comes from a human's mind. Unexplainable or horrible things that are disliked, despised, distrusted, disingenuous, etc. are referred to as demons.

So, it's more like humans possess demons rather than the other way around. Or demons are born from humans.

Unless they actually existed like mentioned in some ancient tomes and folk tales , then sorry, never mind.

Demons were created by people as to blame/believe that someone is not evil but being controlled by "evil" and could be fixed. That's why.

Life is a self-replicating algorithm, in the case of the human species it has evolved in such a way that the brain is the organ predisposed to the processing of data that it perceives through the sensory organs.
For various reasons related to the habitat of the planet and other species but also of its members of the same specie it has reached the point that it cannot survive without self-referencing and for this reason it has created an ego. "The self" is not real but a convention that the organism exploits to understand boundaries, boundaries due to the fact of being creatures made of "elements" "matter" so defined and understood, and therefore subject to the gravitational influences of "space" and "time".
Having said this, possessions are errors of self-reference, mental illnesses, disorders or chemical-biological alterations of mental processes that lead to dissociations, something that in fact almost always leads the organism to a significant worsening in its chances of survival if not death. Man fears death even though technically the organism is programmed to die because it is advantageous for evolution and adaptation. Everything that is feared and terrified is automatically labeled as evil, but good or evil do not really exist, these are also conventions to discern what is better for the organism from what is worse.
In the history of human civilization, demons and other evil creatures from religions or folklore have served precisely in trying to provide answers to something that harmed them and/or they did not understand.
