Went in this with low expectations cause we get dozens of these similar anime every year lately. The getting kicked out of party thing is used so much that it's automatically assumed to be an adventure fantasy these days.

Narsena has a lot of energy for the female lead. Laust isn't really anything special imo and the setting is what you'll find very easily in other fantasy shows. They'll probably introduce more cast later since the promo material featured a lot more. Narsena is likable though.

Novelist Kagekinoko's fantasy story is one that has been done so many times before, with the usual 3rd-rate Studio Elle of last Spring's Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu infamy.

Hina Tachibana's OP is just weird, but not a bad song by any means. Same likewise with Sizuk feat. Kotoha's ED.

For the infamous Laust the Ignoramus, a defective healer like him who can only use the most basic "Heal", who's also looking for party members, a certain martial artist by the name of Narsena takes her interest in him, even if against the ideals of Mardat's Adventurer's Guild's secretary Amherst warning her if she chooses to pair with him, citing obvious losses. For a start, Laust taking Narsena to one of the easiest labyrinths to test her prowess, all he has is his observational skills as a seasoned adventurer to help aid Narsena get around her very first labyrinth.

Even strong monsters are not a problem if Laust knows how to navigate through the hardest troughs alongside Narsena's enthusiasm to keep moving on, but the orks definitely are an indication that something is up, aside from the fact that Laust was banished from his former Blades of Lightning party to join a new one with Narsena. In fact, word goes around in Mardat so fast with anything concerned about Laust that the people treat him with both disdain and welcome depending on who he meets, and Narsena fits outside the mold for someone who's more than meets the eye.

A really mediocre start, as is with every uninspired fantasy work.

Yeah, again the trope of the underdog being the strongest man or something like that, really it isn't good enough to keep me that interested for the next episode but ok I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt one more week.

Much better than a lot of the trash coming out such as the retry one. The animation was beautiful and the pacing was good. The sound direction was average if not lower, but you can't have it all. We'll see how the story unfolds later on.

The synopsis read as:
Troll was under performing and took a position he had no business being in and his team kicked him out for it. Team is viewed as the bad guys with this decision even though they are right. The troll finds a new party and decides not to troll anymore.

I've not seen an episode yet but my interpretation of the synopsis makes my fearful this will be a 'i'm in the right even though i was clearly wrong, now i will have revenge or act high and mighty or play the victim, and i'm going to mock the old team and/or turn others against them with my self proclaimed rightfulness' vibe.

Any truth to this? synopsis just badly written? am i misreading?

I'm wondering if this falls into the "misunderstanding trope", I've seen so many anime carrying this trope lately, previous season has Ossan and Parry. This season already has Nageki no Bourei.

Expected this was going to be a generic trope heavy show, but decide to give it a try anyway. Glad I did. Story so far significantly better than I had expected,
Narsena character design a big highlight. Wonderful mixture of cute as a button and sexy gal, Personality is great: energetic, deredere, forthright and to the point.
Story has hint of wheels moving in the background

I like the party composition, a martial artist and a 'jack of all trades' healer.

Also, I really like Narsena's design. It's Simple and Stylish.
Short light blue hair, long and slender harem pants with openings, and some bandages on top and bottom cause it's cool looking.

Really neat RPG vibes with the music and small world building context. Like how the inn is open air and has nice nighttime vibes with the greenery growing on the building, and then there's just a simple explanation of the various types of zones around the city and how nobody's conquered the entire labyrinth yet.

While the animation isn't amazing, it nevertheless displayed a few nice quirks in this episode 1.

So far the show is pretty cute and easygoing!

I mean, from the title you’d expect a generic trope that’s been told many times before.

Very good beginning episode! Laust is a good-hearted man. Don't want to see him if someone puts Narsena in danger... Fear the anger of a patient man. Narsena is as cute as able and strong and can depend on Laust as both a healer and a fighter to accomplish the mission!

So 5/10 was expectation, and I'll likely give 5/10. However seems pretty nice but I have 2 major issues:
-Can you die in this anime? Or do you respawn? If you respawn, does old body stay (hence the skeletons)? If you can die, then these characters are ridiculous with both being nonchalant about going further and then stop fighting and just accepting death like blue hair girl did if he didn't save her... I'm fine if they respawn, but the skeletons make me unsure...
-So it appears to be more of a sibling type of relationship, however she is making me question that. If she want relationship I guess she has a sibling kink.

4/5, I'm guessing she's some kind of royalty and that he knows it's her. Why else would he be more helpful to her than anyone else and have been only been most basic healer. Her memory of him was only being able to do the most basic healing spell! (well and saving her?) I'm honestly annoyed they didn't share room, waste of money. Also they are so much unlike me, I have a hoarding problem and likely would have kept gems.

@Aapjuh you are right about your read of the synopsis
However for your second block you are wrong. The MC doesn't seem to be an ass or have any animosity versus others, he seems to know exactly what he's doing LOL and isn't really cringe and seems to just be vibing.

I guess it depends/is debatable. Also we have minimal information:

Not troll if (technically): Advertises/Advertised self as only knowing basic healing spell and executed as such
Troll if: advertises as normal healer, only knows basic healing spell and never uses any of his other skills (false advertising troll)

Beautiful! they really brought the manga to life. As in the Anime is sooooooo much more nicer than how it was portrayed in the manga.

That being said, they skipped quite a big chunk of the manga in the first episode.

Maybe they'll show it later, if not they skipped the entire back story when MC was kicked out of the famous party.

I got impressed with this first episode, the direction seems good, the characters and background looks good, but what I wasn’t expecting was some fluid animation. That punch and kick just got me. I hope they keep this quality level until the end.

Knew many ppl will write it off as generic and mid.But idk, have a good feeling about this one.Not gonna say it'd turn out great but think its gonna be enjoyable.Had p good production and cast was actually characters instead of archetypes.Obvious mystery with his abilities and how he was kicked out.Dont have to be unique just need to do it good.

It started off slow for me, and I kept getting flashbacks to The Unwanted Undead Adventurer at the start, but now I'm intrigued to find out why Narsena's changed her hair and who is that male guild employee who seems to know Narsena and kinda doesn't like Laust.

Very good 1st episode.
A lot of funny moments, it was very entertaining.
I guess we will learn more about Narsena's hair changing later on.
Laust sure is reliable, his experience is very helpful in a dungeon.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

I am not going to lie with you, it actually infuriated me. The reason he was kicked out was because he is a healer that can’t do anything else, meanwhile the first thing he does when his new teammate was in danger was kill something in one shot. If he really didn’t want to get kicked out or ridiculed by others he wouldn’t hide it, and he has no reason to hide it. Then the first ten minutes were like “yeah this is the main guy he sucks, here is how the world works because you are the new person. Oh, we just defeated something? Here is how adventurers make money.” The female lead during the episode was like “I joined his party, so I have to tell him my name, but I won’t mention who I really am to him, also I expected him to know me after all these years.” The whole back story of the girl was only explained in the last 3 minutes and she said she was practicing to become an adventurer for him since he healed her after her carriage tipped over?? Which basically just makes the whole “oh I didn’t know I am a new adventurer” trope useless because SHE SAID she wanted to be one and if she wanted to be one she would have at least known the basics and common sense. I have read and watched a lot worse isekais or adventurer mangas and animes, but this one is the only one that has made me mad at the story. I don’t want to watch this anime if it just going to continue to edge me with an mc that DENIES being more than a healer but literally kills something in one shot and says “Yeah I am just able to do that (even though I am a healer and shouldn’t have been fighting with my previous party) because I have been an adventurer for a long time.” Sorry about the long yap fest just putting my opinion out there. If there are some parts that you think are too harsh or you have some opinion about, I’ll read them with an open mind.

I am completely baffled, shocked and in awe, he was banished from a strong party but he was in fact the strongest there is?? All jokes aside I've really quite enjoyed the shows i've watched following this trope earlier and this is looking to be another good one. They dropped us in without much of a disposition on Laust, who i originally thought would be the lead, so there is alot of mystery and things we'll have to learn along the way. I tend to find that better than just info dumping everything anyways, so i'm looking forward to that. Narsene seems like a great lead, it's clear that there is going to be some love story here but i am glad there's more to her than just that. This probably won't revolutionize the fantasy genre, but that doesn't make it a bad anime either, I'll keep having fun with my stupid fantasys filled with cliches and tropes :)

Poor guy Laust had to just stand there with a sign while the whole building would actively stop people from joining his party.

@LilyVarbik No... trolling is if the person actually intends in getting a rise of the other party. If they get offended by themselfs, it's just really on them.
That or the meaning of troll has actually changed and a guy keeping his trump card close to his chest is considered a troll.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I’ll give a couple more episodes to see if it goes anywhere, but the first episode was neither good or bad. It was completely meh. Narsena was somewhat interesting, but the MC himself was blah. Maybe there’s more to the story, but it needs to be told a little better. For Isekai fans this might be worth a watch, but if you aren’t, it will probably bore you.

If he really did lie to his former party and hide his strength, then it's really his fault he was kicked out, not theirs.

That doesn't excuse them stealing his share of the rewards, though.

In any event, as many have noted this is very similar to a million other anime, so...we'll see if it actually is OK.
