As the title says. Anyone know any good fansubbers for this project? I don't wanna sit with the manga in hand as I watch because this is bad. I'm not fluent in japanese but I can tell that what they are saying is not matching the subs. I'm not expecting much as the show has gotten zero publicity thanks to CR so no fansubbers are gonna see any reason to do this show. Oh well.

To my knowledge the subs we’re getting on CR are for the dub, and they just reused them for the sub, thus the disparity. The manga is quite well-regarded from what I know, so I’d say it’s only a matter of time before a fan-subber picks this up.

They're dubtitles. Half of the liens don't match of with what's actually being said and there are subs where there isn't even any diologue. I have the manga next to me and the show is riddled with mistakes.

Is this the common case of "professional" subs being much worse than fansubs? Because since I refuse to give money to CR, I'm watching in Less Than Legal, sites and it is just fine.

normally i dont care too much about the quality of subs cause mostly i just use them to help put things into context cause i mostly understand what theyre saying but there was one scene where they translated "ganbare" to "yeah girl power!" and that was one of the first times i physically cringed while watching an anime lmao

Oh no, I'm a Spanish speaker, I hope CR at least does a good job for us, although the source for the Spanish subs is the English subs (generally).

I'm just thankful I've watched enough anime + played enough Visual Novels + listened to enough Japanese music so I can usually understand what was actually said cause I'd be having an aneurysm if I was relying entirely on subs

Even actually good subs screw this up sometimes but using dub subs for the sub is just dumb. This happened with Cyberpunk Edgerunners where they had the actual words being spoken in the message thing but the subs didn't match up and it pissed me off there but at least it made enough sense unlike some things here do

I’m watching it with Italian subs and it seems quite good to me, probably the problem is only with the English sub since (as someone said) they are using dub lines

Also the decision to not translate onscreen text is fucked up. I'm waiting for a fansubber group to pick this up before going further with the show as it is now borderline unwatchable.

The two I can remember from the last episode was they translated "you're the worst" to "eww, gross" and "I love BL" to "I can't stop fantasising about those boys". There's also no subs for the text on screen and there is quite alot, and when characters are off screen there are suddenly subs where there are no spoken words. Happened maybe twice this episode. There are probably even more egregious examples but they were the most obvious to me as they are pretty easy to recognise.

One that stood out to me was the line sensei says when Kadode is leaving:
Sub: "That's gonna complicate things."
Real translation: "Guess I'll watch some porn (sites)."
