 Publisher Kodansha opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of FUNA's Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu! (I Shall Survive Using Potions!) light novel on Friday and revealed the main cast and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is set for a 2023 premiere.Cast Kaoru Nagase: Rin Kusumi (Slow Loop) Francette: Tomoyo Takayanagi (Machikado Mazoku) Emile: Moeka Koizumi (Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight) Belle: Haruki Iwata (Assault Lily: Bouquet) Layette: Natsuki Kitagawa (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) FUNA began writing the fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2015. Kodansha acquired the novel and published the first volume in June 2017, featuring illustrations by Sukima. The eighth volume was released in August 2022, and the ninth volume is scheduled for a March 2 release. A manga adaptation by Hibiki Kokonoe began serializing in Suiyoubi no Sirius in June 2017. The ninth volume was released in December 2021. J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga in English in December 2018. The seventh novel volume went on sale in April 2022, and the ninth manga volume was released on February 14. Synopsis Kaoru Nagase died unexpectedly while walking home from her office job one night, and she suddenly finds herself in front of a man dressed in white. The man introduces himself as God and apologizes for his mistake that resulted in her untimely demise, vowing to make it up to Kaoru by reincarnating her into another world. The next world's goddess, Celestine, reforms Kaoru's body and gives her all the concessions she asks for: the body she had when she was 15, the ability to make potions with effects of her choice, and a box with infinite storage space, to name a few. But soon, Kaoru realizes that, despite being told otherwise, this new medieval world doesn't have much in the way of magic, causing her potions to be highly sought after by greedy nobles. However, by using knowledge from her previous life, she just might find a way to survive in this world using her potions. | I hope the quality is closer to Mitsuha adaptation, rather than the dumpster fire that was Mile adaptation. That said, it's not that hard to do better than Mitsuha, either. |
