 Mehhh.. I don't mind. The other comparisons make no sense, but some do, and I love that it is like that. I have always thought of AoT as the Evangelion of our Generation (in a good way). Like think about it: •Both involve giant monsters controlled from the nape of the neck. Said giant monsters are used to fend off monsters attacking their fortified city, because of another giant hidden within the city. (Lilith and the Founding Titan.) •Both consists of three children as main characters. Eren and Shinji are forced to pilot these giants because of their secretive father. Mikasa and Rei are man-made female characters, who were created specifically to obey orders. Kaworu and Reiner are traitorous enemies that befriends the cast. •Both MC's become a Titan/Eva because a parent sacrifices their own life to allow them to. While also allowing them to keep in contact with the parent. Shinji with his mom in Unit 01, while Eren with his Dad in paths. •Both having a giant tree that serves a major significance. AoT having the giant tree in paths, while Eva with the giant tree of Kabbalah. •Both result in metaphysical endgames concerning individual existence that are enacted by reuniting the giants into one being. The Third Impact in Evangelion, while The Rumbling in AoT There's obviously much more than these though. Both are masterpieces that I love. |

| I haven't checked any discussion topics in ages, this is the first thing I see after a long time. People come up with the weirdest things to do whenever they have too much time on their hands. If this proves any point at all, it would have to be that the opinion on whether series are similar or not, entirely depends on the point of view one takes when approaching them. And maybe, just maybe, it's also a little influenced by how badly one wants their ideas to be true and the extend to which they have dedicated their hearts to convince others into believing what they believe. Honestly, this is a little entertaining. But the replies posted by others are what really make it worth it. |
