| Spring > Fall >> Winter >>>> Summer Spring and Fall had the same amount of high scores and both have 1 of my 2 favourite animes of 2022 (Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road and Bleach Sennen Kessen-hen), but I would pur Spring higher by virtue of not having a 1 score unlike Fall. Then there is Winter that was inferior to Fall and then there was the insufferable Summer season. |
| Winter was mid, Spring was great, Kaguya, Koumei, Spy x Family, Yuusha Yamemasu, Summer was completely carried by MiA s2 but doesn't measure up to spring, Fall I hardly watched anything even though some of it is probably good. Spring is the best until I catch up on fall shows, then maybe it surpasses Spring depending on how good Bocchi and Mob 3 are |

| It's funny that there are several ways to decide the favorite. Therefore, I ordered my preferences according to two different criteria. I think the most suitable for my case is to compare the TOP 3 of each season and see which one is my favorite in terms of balance. So, I would have something like: Winter: Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Part 2 | Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru | Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Spring: Dance Dance Danseur | Spy x Family | Ao Ashi Summer: Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou | Cyberpunk: Edgerunners | Yofukashi no Uta (+ Lycoris Recoil) Fall: Mob Psycho 100 III | Urusei Yatsura (2022) | Chainsaw Man (+ Spy x Family Part 2) Summer > Fall > Winter > Spring However, when I think about it, this criterion can be a little unfair, since it does not deduce an order considering also the bad experiences in some seasons. For example, in my opinion there were a lot of bad animes in Summer, like Hoshi no Samidare, Isekai Meikuu de Harem wo, Hataraku Maou-sama!! and RWBY: Hyousetsu Teikoku. Therefore, considering my favorites and trying to weigh these experiences in the decision, there is the criterion of calculating the Mean Score for each season and comparing them. The order of my favorites would then look like this: Spring > Winter > Fall > Summer Yes, it's quite ironic that my order is literally the reverse as per the criteria. However, it caught my attention that perhaps this year's seasons were quite extreme, in the sense that when there are many good works, there are also many bad works. Or maybe it's a matter of my preference and some selection biases. |
