Like most of you I absolutely loved this anime. They tackled social issues in such a natural way and all the characters had their own moments. Since there is no season two (yet, plz hopefully there is soon) can you guys give me recommendations for similar animes / mangas with romance / wholesome vibes

Not much romance, but the "tackled social issues in such a natural way and all the characters had their own moments" fits the bill for Kageki Shoujo. Really underwatched anime.
For more of the romance aspect, I'd recommend Skip Beat. The female leads in Skip Beat and Romantic Killer are both pretty similar imo - hyper, hilarious/often make exaggerated facial expressions, and are very admirable for being able to stand up for themselves/the people they care about.

For anime, the ones that stand out are Karekano, Chunibiyo and Clannad. As for manga, Id recomed Tomo chan is a girl, Mousou telepathy and Candy Candy

As for the romance part, I felt a little similarity with "Kaguya-sama: Love is War", "Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun" and "Lovely Complex", since in those series the MC doesn't really want to fall in love or admit that they fell in love and all of them are hilarious too. The last two is shoujo anime though, if that matters for you.
But Romantic Killer is at the top for me right now with it's funniness, hoping for season 2.

Did season 1 adapt all manga or there's still some more to adapt?

For the people lurking here and wondering if there will be a second season. The last scene that people are discussing here was not in the original manga (webtoon?). The source material ended with "fin" while the anime with "to be continued?". So some sort of sequel is most likely in the making. Maybe netflix or shonen jump decided to revive it after it finished 2 years ago. Interesting situation

The World God Only Knows cuz of dating sims and how both main characters connect games to reality and plus sorta like a contract between a human and creature/magical being
