Tabenai riyū - "A Reason Not to Eat"

Bug-eyed Itayama, introduced in Episode 3, has a member in his foodie group who... won't eat food. All he does is comment on the ingredients of their meals and sips wine.

Whereas Yamaoka responds to the mystery by serving something that even Buddha would forsake his vows for (Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, or Buddha's Temptation), Kurita discovers the underlying issue is that the man's wife is sick and he has promised not to indulge himself until she gets better. Perhaps stay at home and take care of her, then?

Indignant sigh at Yamaoka's suggestion to just feed the wife this wonder dish as a remedy for her unnamed ailment, because "Eastern medicine." It has cormorants in it, after all!
