| I don’t know about being the best new generation MC but then again that is honestly subjective and if that’s how you feel about him then you’re entitled to your opinion ^u^ I personally love Tanjiro for he’s a sweetheart and the theme of family hits personal for me. I too love Deku for similar reasons that he is a kind soul and especially passionate. Itadori is a perfect blend of sweet and cool, he’s someone I’d want to be best friends with. |

| I mean he's simple and has the kind of generic stubborn mindset, but in a setting based around "protagonist with progressive ideals changes a world of old values", it works just fine. I think he does have lots of good moments of character development and progression, but it just feels more heavily leaning into the strength and technique side of things, rather than with his values or personality. Similar to how Deku has to get stronger by realizing that he can't just push his body to the brink of death in every fight, but he still keeps his values and ideas of wanting to be the greatest hero throughout the show. In both cases, the unchanging aspects of their character are exactly what make them the protagonist I think. |

| He is a decent protagonist. I like his calm and gentle side. He isnt portrayed as just a kind guy who works on emotion alone, but he thinks everything through and makes the best choice according to him. As for the itadori or deku being better, that is purely subjective. I found Tanjiro better because the decision he takes dont seem to be dumb and he is kind. Yuji seems a bit less interesting and a bit more dumb while deku only goes with his emotions and is a bit of a crybaby, while tanjiro definitely is more mature than at least these two. |

He whole heartedly respected one of them as a true warrior. There are so many series that show compassion towards villains. Even Star wars if you don't count Anime/ |
