| i'm not an economist but it might have saved up some budget since thye only made one op, togashi's first work had only one opening too and it was what inspired hunter x hunter so it might be because of that |

Old anime shounen series usually had ONE opening that was synonymous with its franchise unless it went over 200 episodes. Even though HxH was a modern adaption they probably wanted to capture that “feel” of an old generation shounen, so they kept one opening. Also Yu Yu Hakusho also had one opening song, but I much prefer Smile Bombs melancholic tone to Depatures “YOU CAN SMILEEEEE AGAINNNN” |
