Fuji TV is known for some infamous adaptations (such as Yakusoku no Neverland S2, Toriko).

Kimetsu no Yaiba is apparently going to air in afternoon on Fuji TV “to maximize profit”. Although, there’s some rumors here and there and leaks, saying that Fuji TV sponsors weren’t happy about the content of Yukaku-hen (containing prostitution and a fair amount of blood and violence) and they were working on adjusting various changes in the story.

Unfortunately, each TV station has its own rules on what they can and cannot air on TV. I’m not saying we’re gonna have a YnN S2 situation, but we might see some changes due to that.

Japan twitter is not happy about it and they are worried about possible changes. Some are already threatening the TV station if they dare to change stuff.
It’s also now trending >”changing the source material” on JP twitter

(P.S. Fuji TV is the most hated TV channel in Japan because of that).

Let’s hope for the best.

Rip. It's kinda weird though, that a broadcasting station would interfere so heavily in the production process. Let's hope this is mostly just a marketing ploy for making noise...

ehhhhhhh I mean the writing was never very good anyway so it's really not a big deal if they change a bit, hell they might make it better.

The writing is perfect as it is I hope they don’t mess anything up maybe this is their redemption for messing up neverland S2 however I’m confused how exactly does a broadcasting network get so much control over the series? It doesn’t make sense like who’s in charge of making those ch

why did Shueisha/Ufotable agree to it? Sounds like a moronic decision after the success of the movie and season1.

Yeah, I agree with you. Only Ufotable has the ability to prevent irrational changes from happening. The company is famous for faithful adaption of original works.

Is the same station as season 1?

They don’t, but they do when they are in the production committee, and since they have bought the rights to air KnY on their TV station, they are.

This is bad! Messing with the renowned original source, kny anime might suffer. I hope Ufotable will make a smart choice and won't mess up with the great writing and some epic bloody scenes from manga.

Well rip Demon slayer season 2.
I bet there will be countless censorship.
According to Demon slayer's standard this is by far the most interesting and arguably the best arc Demon slayer has to offer.I'll be mad if they ruin it.

If Ufotable changes contents, the company will suffer the most. If they ruin the series, they cannot sell merchandise of KNY at their cafes or have new contracts for commercial collaborations with other companies.

For Fuji TV, if it is true, the station puts themselves in jeopardy of financial losses from commercial advertisements, too. If the anime contents are so different from the original work, viewers may stop viewing -> drop viewer rate -> no company wants to advertise at that time frame.

For Shueisha, the series ended exactly 1 year ago, so they may not care anymore.

Since the original station was TOKYO MX/BS11 which usually broadcast shows in their own „Aniplex prime time“ Saturdays at 24:00 JST (12:00 a.m) this might be a huge difference in censorship/content change compared to the first season if Fuji TV picks it up.

I'd rather like to see the series air in one of MBS' time slots like Super Animeism. They also aired Jujutsu Kaisen and will likely air Chain Saw Man in their Super Animeism Block. The best case would be, if MBS/TBS would reopen their „Nichi-go“ time slot on Sundays at 17:00 p.m. JST and air Kimetsu no Yaiba at that time. They previously also aired some violent shows at that time (f.e. Arslan Senki)

we're talking about ufotable here, I cannot see them allowing any absurd change so i can rest a little. Tho im still a little bit worried since most japanese people are worried as well. Let's hope this is just a rumor and nothing more

Maybe I’m ignorant on the subject but does where the anime airs matter? I mean it’s still going to be the same anime, just airing in a different station. Could someone enlighten me

This is why fans are worried if the rumor is true.

Interesting. I wonder if they would bow to fan requests, given the sheer popularity of the series. I remember people worried about the same thing when it was announced that Fuji TV would air the recaps. In the end, they didn't change any of the content so it was all good.
But I don't remember if the recaps aired in prime time, so it might be different this time around.

Hopefully nothing major happens

Edit: just found out the recaps were aired during prime time (7-11 pm). Hope is all but lost

Ugh it's not like the entirety of Japan hasn't read the manga already, they already know what's coming why would they be shook

I don't think they'll mess with this one much seeing how little they cared about the responses to the movie being "inappropriate"

Honestly i rather pray for the Fuji TV that they dont want Ufotable to change/fuck up from the source material... There are some really uhm "dedicated" fans to the KNY series. I recon shit is going to go astray real fast for Ufotable and Fuji if they either censor or just change to much.

Personally i would not mind mild changes, as long as it is faithful to it's battles and keeping the ambiance that this arc has cause that is what i like most about the series as a whole.
