| LETS GOOOO we're finally at the Oden flashback. Watching this weekly will definitely be a treat. I loved this episode and it was awesome seeing Denjiro's flashback introduction and seeing kinemon and Otsuru again. That soundtrack at the end was amazing and I'm so excited for the next batch of episodes. Also I'm soooooooo glad they finally changed the eyecatchers. The Luffy + Zoro one was definitely getting stale Edit: I also loved this image here. It fits Oden's character perfectly by looking majestic and epic while seeking change  |

Don't you know what the concept of Exposition means? Act 2 is primarely exposition of the story, littles bits and peaces of character building and world building until act 3 which is where the FULL story is finally told in ernest. That is how a Kabuki dramatic play is structured. |

| Here it is finally, the start of Kozuki Oden's flashback and one my fav arc in the entire one piece. Oden's a legend, by the age of eighteen he already achieved what other anime protagonists take decades to achieve XD, an absolute chad. Kin'emon and Tsuru's scene was hilarious. |

| I can't believe the great leader Kozuki Oden caused and won the harem war and cooks food above a dead man's body...Oden and Kin'emon were quite the trouble makers. Seeing this backstory makes me curious what happened to Kin'emon's friend Denjiro since I don't really remember any character with that name being introduced before. |

| Well damn, the famous Oden flashback has finally begun! Really enjoyed the episode hearing about his mischievous past and present, it will be a fun ride. He seems to be like Roger and Luffy with big aspirations and dreams and a free will. New eyecatchers are so good too! And so is the OST and animation. (Young Tsuru looks so much better tho.) The anime is going really well ever since the post-Reverie episodes They even adapted 1 and a half chapter, so glad about Toei finally picking up some pace! |

| This was a good episode I was waiting for the straw hats to show up but unfortunately they didn't. Oden is insane he ate food over a burning corpse. The pacing was a little slow, as expected from toei. |

Yeah I get that but I was referring more to the timing of when the flashback starts (right after the scabbards are stranded) as a response to the "zzz why now?" part rather than whether or not it should be act 2 or not. | I really liked that little bit with Orochi at the beginning. He's a fascinating character and a lot smarter than most of the characters think. That aside, the upcoming flashback arc might take up much of 2021. We all might get vaccinated before it is over... LOL |

| So we got to see how it was possible for Orochi to pretty much ruin the whole plan of Kinemon and Co. Destroying the bridges was a clever move, but I still want to know where he got his informations from. He even knew the exact number of members which is more than suspicious. I also hope the Sunny is fine. The explosion was very heavy, so hopefully it didn't got damaged to much. Just from the first look Oden seems like one of the most interesting and unique characters I've seen so far. I still can't believe he's only 18 years old lol. Such a magnet for woman and a monster in strength. I really had to laugh about what the assisant of king Sukiyaki was reading about Oden when he grew up. That's definitely not a life career of a normal child hahaha. It's so interesting to see how a lot of the familiar characters looked and lived like. Tsuru for example was such a beautiful woman and Kinemon was way different as the Kinemon we learnt about. This is also the first time we saw anything about Denjiro and I'm excited for what will happen with Odens story. |

| Looks like we are gonna get some good info about Gol D Roger too! I think young Rayleigh was one of the best quirks in the episode too. Is will of D passed in Kozuki clan also?!! |

Manga readers most likely could answer this but just from judging by Odens personalitiy alone and the similarity to Luffy the Kozuki family could be involved in the Will of D. I guess that could also be a reason why Oden got his chance to travel with Gold Roger. |

| Straw Hat's ship is blown. Well, now it's going to be interesting to see how they are going to reverse that. Looks like the Akazaya nine are in a pinch and Orochi has the time of his life. LOL. On the same note, recently after watching moments from the Thriller Bark arc., I realized that Orochi and Dr. Hogback have the same VA and the acting is very similar too. So that's neat. Awesome to see some flashbacks. Never knew Kinemon was a blonde. Howcome he changed his hair color. Nevertheless, he looks handsome. So does his wife, Tsuru. It's strange seeing them so young, especially Tsuru. Good to know more about Oden. About time we saw his past. In his youth, he is full of energy. Looks like this is the beginning of him and the Akazaya nine. Lastly, the small white boar cub is really adorable. So cute PS! I also love the change in the short clips when half of the ep. was finished. One of them Luffy and his crew and the second one Roger and his crew. Such a good metaphor right there. |
