What would you do if after some years you found the child isn't biologically yours

So I watched the hentai Otome Dori today, and it hit me with this question.
In the hentai MC finds out in the end that his 5 year old daughter wasn't actually his and his wife had cheated on her.In the end, he doesn't do anything.
What would you do if you were in that situation? Would the child being an infant or a 5 year old make a difference in your case?
For my answer, I have no idea

Well, that's technically impossible, but let's say it was possible.
I would keep the child since the scenario says that I wanted to have one anyway, genetics aren't that big of a deal.
And if in some alternate universe children are not genetic of the mother from birth without their knowledge, I'd probably put them up for adoption.

Depends. First off the word "wife" means a lot to me, not like "waifu", that is a bit generic and deprived of deeper meaning.
In France there are modalities for marrying someone, like conceding half of your belongings/sharing both persons' belongings in half (there are contracts that go otherwise)... To my understanding, civil marriage is there to legally describe a common situation... Well, I may misunderstand, but I think I'd only marry if I had a child.
And, if I had a child, I'd want more a daughter than a son, but that's an a priori, and I'm sure raising he or her will prove a ton of fun (lol I'm SO not gonna be prepared for the times that aren't fun at all...).
I guess I would want to keep a child if I had spent 5 years of my life defending them against life's harshness? But this is kind of a huge deal to make someone believe they have a child with you when it is not true. Like, I could stand being cheated upon, but I believe it's not on the same scale at all to lie about a child's origins. First off she'd have lied to me, but the worst would be to have lied to an infant.
If I ever married someone, I'd want for us to: 1. have at least a child together at some point; 2. be honest to each other. If both conditions are broken, it's divorce time...

TLDR: Divorce+try to keep custody.

if it's cheating, keep the child and divorce the wife, if it's as the ysphyr says, just keep the child and go to an endless journey to find your real child just to see how he/she is

otome dori was very good, great taste there op

I would cry because I'm sure I love that child by now and the last thing I want is to be in a position where I could be separated from him/her. Then I would probably legally adopt I dunno. Then I would shave off my beard coz I'm a man in this scenario and beards are stupid.

I’ll be very upset because then that means the paternity test results were wrong. (Because any man who doesn’t get a paternity test is far too trusting).

Divorcing her, immediately. And I'll try my hardest to keep the kid if it's possible (which is highly unlikely, lol).

Probably have a long, long talk with my wife but I wouldn't have any animosity towards the kid. None of this is their fault.

This reminded me of a story I read on the subreddit "Today I Fucked Up/TIFU". I really don't know what I will do if that happens to me. Well, the child definitely isn't at fault, so I would try my best to not cause any problem to him/her.

I really hated Otome Dori by the way.

I raised the kid for 5 years as a dad. I would be more upset about being separated from the kid maybe than from the cheating tbh.

In my opinion, the kid is innocent so if it is necessary, i would keep him or her.

Regarding the wife, I would ask why she cheated me, and according to her answer to divorce, forgive or choose another way for the kid~~

I'm never trusting someone after that so divorce is the only option but I sure as hell ain't paying any child support either.

depends on the specifics of the scenario. i'd feel really betrayed by the wife and probably wouldn't be able to have the same relationship with her unless it wasn't really her fault (she was pregnant before we dated? or if she was assaulted) if i felt really connected to the child i might not want to lose the partial custody.

Easy question. I won't waste time, effort and money on something that isn't mine, let the real daddy take care of his own creation. That's why every aspiring dads should always run a DNA test ASAP

(Probably due to childhood trauma) cheating is like,, my biggest pet peeve? I wouldn’t even call it a pet peeve, more something that triggers a lot of anger in me. If i was a dude and my wife cheated i ... when’s garbage day again?

That's not possible, but hypothetically I wouldn't be the kind of person to stop loving their child just because it isn't biologically theirs. I don't give a shit about biology or my DNA being passed down or whatever. I'd leave the cheater, but still be a parental figure to the child.

If I loved and treated a child as my own, it is my child, doesnt matter if has the same genes as mine. So if i was married to that person, id divorce OFC but id keep treating that kid as my own.

I mean of course I would be extremely upset & angry. However, it's not the kid's fault. That being said, if the kid is only an infant then it depends on how well off I am financially, If I'm poor then I would keep it with its father (the cheater) & leave them or try to find the woman he cheated on me with & compel her to take the infant.

However, if its a 5 year old, then by that time I've already developed a love for the child & I most likely wouldn't think of leaving him/her but I would leave the man who cheated on me (his/her father)
