I used to be a really big fan of hetalia in like 2013-2014 or so, and met a lot of great people and got new friends because of hetalia, but the fandom is a scary place and I'm scared what will happen when the fandom is revived. Then again, I can't wait to see if my favorite hetalia related twitter and tumblr accounts get revived too. edit: My first thought when I saw "new related anime: Hetalia World stars" was: "Oh no, here we go again" |

Why do strange people disappear for HUNDREDS of years if they're long? Like, not even tall, just long. Like, I'm guessing XXXHolic type of long people when we're talking long. Insert Long People Here. Even worse but when they come back, only after someone has an idea about them of course, they even have a full on personality change?? But the bosses of strange people loosely (so I guess like reluctantly) accept them and use them regardless... I mean like... use how? Like... sexually? That's deep. And this is going to be a STORY about these strange people who disappear, come back, and get used by their bosses?? Sounds interesting af to me. I'm in. I knew Hetalia was complex. We're on a whole new level now. |

| Awww shittt here we go again Ive only watched 3/4 of the first season, and I thought it was pretty meh for a short form anime. The first volume of the manga was pretty good tho. I just...we already have the my hero fandom to deal with. I pray that the hetalia fandom isnt revived. |

| By the way, the fandom's still around. It's a relatively tame fandom now, though it feels a little dead. Now you just have history lovers and some random stragglers who write fanfics, make art, and stuff. The only thing is that things have been a little slower due to webcomic in Jump being on hiatus. HOWEVER, apparently the webcomic will be continuing in 2021 as well (I'm guessing along with the anime). That's great! I dunno what you all did in your Hetalia days, but just look back and grow from it instead of constantly finding only shame. Just grow from your mistakes-- or if they're not even mistakes then move on and laugh about it instead. I think a lot of the Hetalia fandom was a bit younger back when it first aired. I remember a large part of the fandom being in like middle school or they were freshman in high school. That's usually people's cringe period (for some it's longer). While I was no longer within my cringe period, I did understand that people were probably just going to grow out of it as their cringe period passed. I'm a little sad that instead of accepting and changing that people would rather just avoid Hetalia altogether. Like be better than your past self and just enjoy yourself, folks. Anyway, with every new season, we do get a little revival and then the fandom goes right back to that half-dead state. I think since a lot of people are in lock down still and are bored we'll probably get some more people checking it out, but I don't expect a humongous revival or anything. Would be nice to get more cult members though. |

| Surprised, but I’ll definitely look forward to watching it! Hetalia’s a fandom I come back to every once in a while and it’s still something I hold dear. I do know that Hetalia had some people who were a bit cringey, but imo they were never a large group. |
| Hetalia feels super nostalgic to me, it's one of the first anime I watched in high school. I'm glad they're making a new anime, now I have an excuse to rewatch all the other parts and relive some of my nostalgia. |

About the controversial bit... this might either stop airing or still be airing around the time the (probably not happening) 2021 Olympics roll around. I wonder if they did that on purpose, but I also have a feeling that might not end as well as they'd think. I'm just pondering of course. Could just be a coincidence with nothing planned.
