They very ironically dubbed shows about perversion anarchy (Shimoneta) and lesbian pedo sexual abuse power up (Valkyria Drive) not to mention straight rape with incestuous subtext between minors (Citrus) that have about 100 times of a more damaging image to them than anything a sexually positive show about sex work would ever do to them (despite the other two being anyhow less explicit than it).
And yeah, I'm not even mentioning the kind of comedy that goes on Prison School either, also dubbed and licensed by them LOL
Great standards from them I might say, this is quite the huge hypocrisy from their part. If they really don't give a shit, take those other shows out as well. The only thing this one has is more spice to it, and the censored version for it is tamer than those others' uncensored versions available from Funi themselves.
Highly disagree there, you've been watching too many nux taku videos. This is literal prostitution. Sure there's nothing technically wrong with a show about rating the sex experience with them, but it's not exactly fine to air it on tv or funimation with many younger viewers. You mention all of these anime, but they're completely irrelevant because they're not about prostitution. None of the shows you mentioned even come close to this.
Ok, let me get this straight:
1- Nice assumption there, but I never even watched a single video of this guy, despite the ruckus he caused in here. From the vocabulary of the people who watch him (who even uses "flex" nowadays, that alone already bothers me enough as is), I took my fair distance. If he did say something like I just did, however, I would agree, because that's just the truth, since...
2- There are a lot of other shows much less appropriate than this show in there that wouldn't be appropriate to the "o poor young viewers" you are strawman defending in here on their behalf. Most of their anime are directed to older teens, and they have as I mentioned, other adult anime with FAR WORSE subject matter than legal, positive and wholesome display on sex work/prostitution.
IT IS RELEVANT since, it doesn't matter what your views are regarding what this kind of work (prostitution) represents to you or your society, but I bet it's far better than non-consensual sexual abuse/rape on minors, perverted rioting for a hornier world via indecent sexual despiction terrorism (independent of the actual message being far more clever in a different context) all of which being displayed as means of fanservice/audience's sexual arousal and not to even be played for drama or anything like that (except maybe Shimoneta just because of the aforementioned deeper political implications on sexual expression censorship, which again, is even more ironic since it was licensed by them).
3- It's airing on TV at an hour where there are no kids watching, adult time, heavily censored in all but one channel to the point of being nearly PG-13 in terms of graphic imagery if it wasn't for the content itself and what it is about.
Even if a kid were to "accidentally" turn on a certain channel in a certain day after 11PM and watch it on Japanese TV, they wouldn't find much to enjoy unless them or their parents paid AT-X to see the uncensored broadcasting. Not like they can't find much more sexually risquè programs in Japan at that hour (like that infamous one with guys singing while a woman is masturbating them).
Your points fall flat, just because a show is about sexual explicit legal "fantastic" prostitution reviewing, it doesn't mean "nothing comes close to it" in terms of content. You can find an edgelord/ecchi anime per season without any airing problems that gets far worse with their sexual content purely by the nature of display (repeating: rape, sexual abuse -though I can turn a blind eye to friendly sexual harassment I guess- , predatory behavior on minors and vice versa encouragement (yeah, precocious loli femdom is a popular thing nowadays), stupid harem shenenigans mostly downplaying women in general with the sheer amount of bad characterization, you name it, there will be nearly every single time something like that in them).
Ishuzoku Reviewers is the much superior product because it presents its content in a far better light without relying in any of that bullshit. The reason why it's being dropped by networks in Japan is solely because the sex scenes go for a bit too long and show a bit too much even with censorship (not nearly enough to be comparable to other uncensored content on Funi anyway, returning to that point). Was it for the "prostitution element" itself, that wouldn't be near as big of a deal compared to how explicit the something sexual is being shown.
Hell, some Mahou Shoujo shows lately had far worse non-explicit stuff involving the magical girls on them, including prostitution ring subplots, and nobody even cared nor ever will. They censored the violence and the nudity, sure, but the content was still there in all of its glory. Hell, two of the protagonists in Gangsta are sex workers themselves, that series is all about that and underground and criminal fuckeries happening in Japan, and that was broadcasted with minimal censorship despite the content and even bigger taboo in Japan: Drugs.
So no, miss me with that "This show is literally about prostitution, therefore it's obvious it shouldn't be showing in TV or streaming sites", because that's bullshit, especially when it is dealing with said subject in such a light tone.
