| I can't wait for the next episode and hopefully we get to know what's really going on, I also think Null is the one in a Coma or something like that and maybe the beach girl is actually a Doctor / Nurse who is taking care of her. |

| I had been wondering about the lack of people ever since the first bug episode. Despite going around town and saving the day there was no one to be seen. Certainly everyone would be having problems with the bugs, would they not? So, this episode addressed that, as if it was something new... In fact, I think the last time we ever saw bystanders were when they glitched out at the end of the beach episode, maybe that signified them disappearing. This is a pretty freaky idea. Null woke up with memories that must feel incredibly real, but Peta refuses to address them and does so somewhat clumsily. There are signs that make no sense everywhere and inanimate objects come to life. One of which was fresh funeral flowers placed for Peta. Right before stumbling upon it she mentioned she was dreaming of the accident recently and described the dreams as particularly odd but we didn’t get to hear what exactly was so odd about them. I was wondering when she stumbled upon the flowers if she was the one who put them there because if not her, then who? They don’t seem to have any other family, at least no parents. To deal with this skepticism that is so in line with Descartes doubt of his own existence, famously arguing that you can never know if you are dreaming or not, Null played with his argument “if I think therefore I am” and spun it in a way that fits her reliant attitude, “I think of my sister, therefore I am”. Yet with Peta missing with only a suit behind, perhaps that is justified reason to doubt her entire existence and her world. It's definitely an interesting play on Descartes, where he could only ever be sure of his own existence through doubting his own doubts; arguably he could never know of other's or the world, Null is stating that she can only know her existence if Peta is around. It's like a complete reversal, hinging existence on the exterior rather than the interior. I don't want to go too far with this right now, but it has big ramifications seeing that Peta's death is a centerpiece of the series. |
