I'll try to keep them short.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/22433/Break_Blade

(all out mech war, no character is safe)

https://myanimelist.net/anime/35851/Sayonara_no_Asa_ni_Yakusoku_no_Hana_wo_Kazarou

(probably one of the sweetest and most heart breaking anime out there)

https://myanimelist.net/anime/9756/Mahou_Shoujo_Madoka%E2%98%85Magica

(basically the Stein's gate of Magic girl anime)

https://myanimelist.net/anime/36296/Hinamatsuri

(genuinely LOL funny and wholesome)

https://myanimelist.net/anime/32673/Udon_no_Kuni_no_Kiniro_Kemari

(I feel this one doesn't get the love it deserves sometimes, it's a genuinely lovely slice of life about a grown man raising a boy he finds rumbling around his home who turns out to be a tanuki)

Thanks @simonstevens87 and @Ataraxya for the recs though you both recommended Madoka even though I've seen it :)

Edit: I've also seen Fate Zero

My apologies, may I instead recommend you this little gem instead then?

https://myanimelist.net/anime/28497/Rokka_no_Yuusha

The plot seems simple enough but it quickly turns into a danganronpa type scenario, it has a lot of mystery and suspense surrounding it, it's pretty great, it completely took me by surprise on my first watch.

My favorites among the short ones that you haven't already seen are :-
1) Ergo Proxy (Psychological show, Dystopia)
2) Psycho Pass S1 (S2 is bad) (Thriller, Action, Dystopia)
3) Sliver Spoon (S1 and S2) (One of the best slice of life/coming of age anime)
4) Nichijou (Hit or Miss Comedy)
5) Hyouka (Slice of Life / Mystery, very rare combination I'd say)

Other Mentions :-
Another hit or miss comedy, Daily Lives of High School Boys
Oh and a really freakin weird show which is pure genius though, Noucome !

I've seen Psycho pass and yh I dropped S2 as well. Thanks for the rest though.

The 'Noucome' anime, I can't find. Can you link it me?

Oh Sorry, I missed Psycho Pass. These might be a replacement :)

Noucome is short for its name. The anime might seem a stereotypical kind, but its kinda borderline parody. See if you like it.

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen -- 2 hr OVA/Movie. Masterpiece.
Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 -- Brilliant re-do of '70's classic.
Girls und Panzer -- Tongue-in-cheek gem featuring girls and their WWII tanks. It's actually a sports anime.
Nodame Cantabile -- Great leads & supporting cast; great music; lotsa laughs.
So Ra No Wo To -- Unique setting, post-apoc slice of life. Fantastic OST. Ep.1 OP

Thanks, do I have to watch the Rurouni Kenshin tv series before the OVA?
No, the OVA I linked is a back-story prequel -- about 9 years in Kenshin's past. It's very serious with some disturbing scenes. The TV series is in a different style (more shounen-ish with over-the-top enemies and humor/goofy faces, etc).

Now, having said that it's a pre-quel if you are interested in the whole franchise there's something to be said for watching the first season of the TV series (Ep. 1-27 or even just the first 10 episodes or so) and then watch the backstory. Reason being to preserve an aura of mystery about Kenshin's past while they drop hints about his bloody past, etc. Like, why all these people keep showing up trying to mess with him, etc. Just keep in mind that if the TV series comes off as too silly or whatever the OVA is cut from different cloth altogether.

Either way works :)

These are max 25 episodes. I was going to recommend Uchuu Kyoudai, but realised it's 99 episodes. Worth a try if you're curious about space and watching how astronauts get selected/trained.

I wasn't a fan of the original show but I agree the ova was a masterpiece and is worth a watch on it's own.

Darker than Black - only the first season
Death Note - this one is important just to understand the memes, but also lauded for good reason.
Parasyte - gory action AND thought provoking, based on an older manga
March Comes in Like a Lion - realistic and visceral depiction of depression and emotional turmoil in general. If you liked the visual style of Bakemonogatari, you might like this too.
Monster - might be longer/slower than you're looking for, but I couldn't bring myself to not mention my favorite anime of all time; a masterful psychological thriller.

I tried giving you something that others didn't suggest, I looked through your MAL, but there's always a chance I recommended you something you've already seen, if so I'm sorry.

Note I put where you can watch some of these, but sometimes it depends on if you live in the USA or out of it.

Little Witch Academia (Netflix) has dub

Why just upto episode 18 for that show?

Because I believe one of the directors left because of creative differences and the anime looks like a 4 year old drew it. But even with all that you should still watch it
