| Another dragged out episode that felt really contrived and dull. a lot of illogical shit going on as usual cuz characters in this are just are always illogical. More lazy writing. SSL443's post already details a lot of the issues so I won't repeat too much of it. Then the subs suck. "Bitch" in Japanese means "Slut". So calling her Bitch and Slut is just calling her the same thing twice. Lazy subs. But as usual the author pushes his pro-slavery narrative. Even in a situation like this, stripping someone of their humanity/freedom is NOT okay. she wasn't even convicted at the time, literally on trial and they stripped her of her freedom by putting a slave crest on her. Then the name shit is taking their humanity away. Yeah, it's fiction and people will think it's funny and cheer but it's again pushing an awful belief that the author most likely holds true. A belief that people that wronged you deserve to have their entire existence denied. That's worse than death..Naofumi was right about that. But the show implied he was trying to be nice. In reality he was being far more cruel lol. It's completely inhumane and vile. The way the citizens just swapped religion and forgave Naofumi so fast was hilariously dumb and lazy. 4 episodes left and this still remained quite possibly the most overrated thing I've watched in the last decade. |

I loved the episode... and I'm not going to disagree with you... But hear me out. Naofumi's name is cleared, and then he decides that the king's and princess' death won't satisfy him, and proposes giving them insulting names... When all that happened, I thought that was stupid, I thought he should've made them his slaves... I mean, they did a score on him, they literally stripped him off of his dignity and existence and his humanity. But when you say that Naofumi's decision was cruel, I say he's just human and maybe even more humane than you think... Think about it like this: He finds himself in a world of stereotypes and prejudice and betrayal, the very fact that he still got the stomach to remain sane is a great accomplishment in and of itself. Not only that, he finds himself in a world of Monarchy where only absolute power and order exist. So the queen had to remain steadfast, and act like the queen she was chosen to be... She had to bring her sinful husband and daughter down the way she did. But she wasn't going to actually let the verdict be passed, as she was willing to ask Naofumi to spare their lives for her own. That's why she was "relieved" when her decision was overthrown by Naofumi's proposal -Who gave her family members a second choice where there's life. So the truth is Naofumi didn't only save the king and Malty, but also the queen. As for the citizens, their reaction can be explained due to the fact that their queen factually said that those two were responsible for many atrocities... Not only the death of their loved ones, but also the consipiracies with the kingdoms enemies, like the Church of the Three Heros, the unfair treatment (I remember that one episode where Malty herself went over to a village to announce that taxes would be doubled...), the attempt on Melty (the 2nd princess) life, who seems to be loved by her people, the torture and inhumane treatment of demi-humans... The list is actually pretty long... So if the queen says that Naofumi is the citizens' hero, the citizens will believe. It's that kind of relationship. It's absolute even when it's wrong (although in this case, it is true). What I found quite unusual is the fact that NO ONE SPOKE FOR THE KING AND DAUGHTER... Here's how I convinced myself to accept this: They never had loyal subjects to begin with. They were simply betrayed and treated the same way they betrayed and treated Naofumi. If anything, the same thing that happened to Naofumi is happening to Malty and her father. It means that they have to try and rise the same way he did. End of Speculation. ;D |

| The massive payoff we've been waiting for is finally here, and man does it feel satisfying. So much so I think I was watching it the entire time with a half chub. Just have to get it out there, the Queen is so fine. As for the episode, it was enjoyable but I feel as though they didn't have the time to really savor what was happening like the manga did. But it was still great to see Bitch suffer. But damn was it pathetic to see her beg Naofumi. But most importantly, it felt so good to see Naofumi's name be cleared. The show did a great job having us feel for the character, and it's so rewarding to see him stand tall once again. One of the most pleasurable episodes I've seen from almost any series. |

| I was very critical of the previous chapter, in fact it seemed the worst of all. But this chapter has vindicated the anime. From start to finish, even without battles, it was very exciting and the tension was always high! While the death of Malty and the King would not have been bad, the humiliation of being saved by the guy they slandered so much is even worse than death itself, it was very gratifying to see how they were invaded by desperation xD. Naofumi sucked on that "Bitch" and "Scum" hahahahahaha. Without a doubt, this episode is the best that has come out so far, not only because of what happened but also because of the context and the way in which our protagonist, once and for all, comes out "victorious". 10/10 |

I think they'll end it here- it's very possible next episode will be a recap, but hopefully not. They're probably gonna go for a second season, you know how the Anime industry work (for those who don't, I recommend watching Bakuman :3), but if so I hope the quality doesn't drop. |
| Ugh... this episode strayed so much from the established story that I absolutely hated it. Also... I hoped to see their rank up, but I don't remember when that happened exactly. Naofumi should be the one demanding their deaths, and the queen should subtly shift towards the punishment we got. The anime makes Naofumi TOO nice. He's not unkind, but the man can sure as hell hold onto a grudge. |

I liked this a lot, the show started out great, kind got draggy in the middle, the pope arc was meh, but this episode was really good do we know the name of the song that was playing right after Naofumi spared Trash and Bitch? |

| It was an okay episode. Obviously, they weren't going to kill off Myne. I heard that she experiences something much worse in the web novel or some shit like that. Something about being the toy of a sadistic pervert. Honestly, this series has just worsened with each passing episode. Four more episodes to go. |

| After everything Naofumi's gone through throughout this series, this episode served as some sweet catharsis by finally punishing the King and Myne for their actions. Also, though it was fairly easy to expect, Naofumi's choice to spare them was very well-executed too. Also, this episode kinda felt like a finale with Naofumi's ending monologue, so it'll be interesting to see what the show has in store for the final four episodes. |

I especially like the look on Myne's face when she begged Motoyasu for help and he ignored her, in your face!!! Also the way she begged Naofumi for mercy! Very very satisfying! After that clusterfuck of a batshit story arc with the pope that was awkward as hell and deus ex machina solution, this episode made it worth it. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, The Rising of the Shield Hero, is a redemption story, not a descention story. He's supposed to rise from nothing, not fall from grace. Too many went into this show expecting masturbatory revenge plot... If you want that, go watch Jigoku Shoujo, it's literally that in droves. Tate no Yuusha is not MGTOW fanservice or echo chamber either, so those types can also get out. The story would have been exactly the same even if Naofumi was a girl. I do not know what the hell you are talking about, do not you see how all the people are euphoric for having gotten their porn of justice? Also how is that -"The story would have been exactly the same even if Naofumi was a girl." Myne had not blamed him for rape in the anime/manga/novel never a girl is accused of being perverted, have you ever seen when a group of girls go to the onsen and one of them begins to fondle the tits of the others? |
