I'm really glad her arc went in the direction it did, tbh.
Chloé's arc so far has been very much about learning to have agency:
one of the first things we're told about Chloé is that she, like Noé, is of will strong enough to resist Naenia and thus cannot be forced to hand over her true name.
The rest of her arc reflects this: Her agency was stolen from her when she became a vampire, but over the course of the flashbacks we see her start to make friends and, eventually, outright defy the orders she had been bound by of her own free will. And she was happier because of that, because even though the orders were given by someone who may have loved her, they were not ones she had ever wanted to follow.
I'm going to skip over the stuff with Ruthven and Jean Jacques because it's only of tangential relevance, but; having Chloé choose to kill Naenia- something she decided by herself, of her own free will- as opposed to becoming human- something which was forced on to her and which she was never given a reason to want in the first place- I think was a very sensible and satisfying direction to take it in.
I don't know if Chloé will die or not at this point, though I'd honestly put my money on Noé convincing Vanitas to save her and Jean Jacques (so far, Noé's idealism saving the day has been a major recurring theme, so it's probably going to hold out for a while)- either way, it'll probably be a big character moment for Jeanne so, excitement- but I think even if she were to die we would have had a well-written and I think, satisfying arc.
TL;DR Mochijun ilu thank you for my girls

EDIT: Also I've only read the Japanese version in its entirety though I've seen bits of the English translation: in the Japanese version Vanitas (18) asks Chloé (>100) to "hand [his book] over to the adult" which extremely Vanitas and also good. Also the first thing he thinks of when he hears how poorly organized Chloé is is "oh my God, Noé Is like that" they're so cute

Man that was fantastic, let's fucking go Chloe!

I hope Vanitas gives back Jean Jacques true name after all this. But I doubt Naenia will be done in just like that, she'll probably escape.

Just twist after twist, and pretty much none of them forced. There should be a limit.
