It's still beyond me why this doesn't have a best girl thread. A classic from the 80s, the grand dad of ecchi romance.
For me, Shinobu is best girl because the others are aliens or plain weird.

Lmfao, I completely agree with this. Shame on you Catalano.

It was originally Shinobu for me because she was so simple. In a world of zaney characters, it'd be good to be close to someone so down to earth.

But come tf on. Lum's there for you, offering support unconditionally. At times, she's even the voice-of-reason, the maternal warmth, or the light in the darkness. Not only that, but when up against any foe, she's there to zap them or fly you away from them. Not to mention she's got a spaceship fam, and is the princess of a planet, capable of buying an Earth's worth of gas and oil.

The characters in this show are ALL -- each and EVERYone -- shown to be extremely selfish. That is, as of the first 30 episodes. But I don't think anyone has ever considered that Lum is the only character on the show that isn't selfish. Not in the slightest. Get'chu a girl like that.

@alexanderhd lum will zap you if you dared to look at a girl, I don't wanna die electrocuted, she can't cook, she can't have a normal conversation. I find Shinobu charming and I'm glad she found her happiness in the ova.

Damn, I didn't even consider being the subject of electrocution. I mean, you could spare yourself from it by simply not cheating, but... there's been a lot of misunderstandings in the series too where Ataru didn't even do anything wrong. Not only that but her lollipops look spicy af. A girl not being able to make a SIMPLE LOLLIPOP should raise a whiteflag I suppose.

Tbh, I'm only in the first 50 episodes. But I did spoil something for myself and read about her finding a guy she was satisfied with in an OVA. He's a blonde guy, right?

Well. While Lum is the obvious choice for a lot of people including myself -- if held at gunpoint, I'd gladly choose Shinobu. She's indeed a close second.

Honestly, every other girl in the series is way too wacky anyways, hehe.
