Hello!
JaJl May 7, 2020 11:53 PM

I’ve been under quarantine for weeks. I work from home and tutor kids over Skype. I only leave the house to get groceries. Hopefully it will burn out in a couple months, it sucks not being able to see friends. America is now leading in cases and will soon lead in deaths. Our idiot president completely ignored all warnings until it was far too late! Bolsonaro looks like he’s about to take Brazil down a similar path.

If your looking for horror I'd recommend Higurashi no naku koro ni, Umineko no naku koro ni, or Shiki ( there are plenty of others, those are just my favorites, I guess, because they are going more into psychological horror). In my opinion a term for horror is really vague, what one might regard as creepy, disturbing or scary, might not look that way to others. In terms of anime, there are anime that are described as horror anime (by genres) and then there are those, that have just horror elements like let's say Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica or Neon Genesis Evangelion etc. But they're enjoyable as well. And at least for me, the suddenly thrown in horror instances were quite a delightful surprise..

Talking about Blood installments, I've only seen Blood+ and Blood-C (honestly, I don't know if it was better than Blood-C, again it revolves around the tastes of the viewer. Blood-C was way more gory, that's for sure. While Blood+ had a longer and completely different story (50 episodes), more characters, less blood, I think it centered around the action aspect more, the additional blood got dull to me. It would be hard for me to compare these two anime, since I watched them both few years ago, I'm even wondering if I'd have the same enjoyment watching Blood+ now. My tastes in this genre changed, sooo...

I don't know if this helped you...

Imagínate haber visto Serial Experiments Lain mientras leías La Divina Comedia de Dante. Siento que me está creciendo un quinto lóbulo en el cerebro.

China also has a spectacular history of live action cinema, beyond just Kung Fu films and Hong Kong action movies. "In the Mood for Love" is an excellent romance movie from 1990s Hong Hong. Edward Yang's films are also spectacular! He was born in Shanghai, but fled to Taiwan because he wasn't a fan of Communism. Good move on his part! Some of his most famous films include "Yi Yi" and "A Brighter Summer Day".

I've only seen a couple Dongua. Neither of which were that great. However, I'm sure there are good ones out there. Earlier this year, I started reading Dream of the Red Chamber, which I've been reading sporadically. It's pretty difficult and over twice as long as War and Peace. It's often considered China's greatest novel. 2,500 pages of Qing Dynasty culture, Taoist philosophy on the fleeting nature of all things, and a wealthy playboy deciding which of his 2 cousins he wants to marry! One is super cultured and a genius, but is perpetually sickly. The other is beautiful and is the traditional Chinese ideal woman.

Sorry I never got back to your last comment in December! It must have been buried by Lamp posting lots of silly stuff! That's awesome you enjoyed Flowers of Evil! I read that back in college and loved it!

No encuentro a muchas personas que tengan a Shinji entre sus personajes favoritos. Diría que es extraño.
