Pretty cute animal I really hope they keep it with them. Wonder why there are so many statues with its likeness though, the creature is emitting wave somehow so maybe it had some use in the world before catastrophe

And the part with movine metro was nice too, this show never cease to surprise me.

That thing reminds me of Slugcats from the game Rain World. The game itself is quite similar to this anime, being about a postapocalyptic (or at least abandoned) world, with mysterious secrets and mutated creatures and such. The animal we play as is somewhat similar to this.

I wonder what it is supposed to be. Probably some kind of a mutated animal (or perhaps even a genetically or biologically engineered creature). It looks quite similar to the "gods" or whatever those statues were. Not to mention how it seemingly speaks on a radio wave level.

The multi-storey city where the story takes place gives me the same disquiet I feel when I see those huge buildings built in the suburbs. Narratively, it puts me the same anxiety that I felt in other episodes and that being that they discover, it makes me uneasy that it, a similar world is a true dystopia. Although it does not seem, instead of dialogues, this time the scenes are seen to have a certain philosophical echo. The anime series is about to end, and I already know that both the characters and the soundtrack will have a great impact on me.

What was that white little thing at the end? So cute!

Wow, I totally didn't expect them to find a working train station, but when I think about the last episode, I guess it makes sense. This is apparently the future. They have robots that does self maintenance. It's not really weird to find an automated train station.

That low angle just makes that train look more futuristic than it already is

That talk about moving on a moving train just gave me Physics flashbacks that I do not want to remember.

God, the accompanying music with the sunset is so beautiful. I have goosebumps.

Lol, now it's Yuu with the O face

That has to be the weirdest looking cat I've ever seen.
All in all, pretty normal episode.

The music is sad indeed. The cat doesn't look a cat, it's weird haha but cute :)

That cot is truly adorable, even if it just looks like a white sausage

I kind of teared up when they watch the sunset and the background music come in. And that cat......will it be able to speak someday? I laughed so hard when Yuu said she would like to roast it. Hahahha

Well, I guess if an apocalypse happens we can at least look forward to fun, strange mutated creatures a few thousand years later...

Oh my god what a cute little sausage.
The fact that it can speak and looks like all those statues is a bit concerning, though.

the philosophy stuff got complicated during the sunset. Storytelling wise is pretty awesome.

Glad that they actually kept the radio because that sad music fits perfectly well with the red sunset. What is that weird long creature thingy lol.

That sunset scene was probably my favorite of this show, the feeling of melancholy in a fleeting moment.

Also I instantly recognized that melody from Sewerslvt lmaoo

How Chito called the broken robots corpses, implying that they were once living, was a nice touch. We got some good lore this episode with the fact that there were at least two major wars. Also between the cat fish and potatoes all life seems to be made white I wonder what that is about.

Thinking about it, all Chi and Yuu have is time, so between the two, they spend their abundance of time pondering over worldly philosophical quandaries and the most mundane, silly thoughts that pass through their minds. However, they're also limited on time, that being their food supply. They're forced to constantly be on the move for supplies, as if they stay in a place for too long, they'll run out before they get to their next destination. Since animals have nearly gone extinct, hunting isn't an option. They have to rely on luck during scavenging, and given how desolate their city is, I can't imagine how it must feel to see your food supply dwindle after days after days of travel. It's even worse when they're underground or within massive industrial structures, as they can't even tell how many days have passed.

They could always keep that blob thing as a last measure for food, but at the same time.. it will prolly take more food from them than provide. Unless it can locate food or more animals for them.
