The official website of TV anime Days has announced that the previously announced sequel will be released as three-episode OVA. The episodes will be bundled in 26th to 28th limited edition volumes of the manga, which will be released on March 16, May 17, and July 17, 2018. The episodes will depict the final match against Touyin Gakuin for National High School Soccer Tournament Tokyo Preliminary.

Days is drawn by Tsuyoshi Yasuda and began publishing in April 2013. The series currently has 24 volumes in print, with the latest released on October 17. It was nominated in the Best Shounen Manga category at Kodansha's 39th Annual Manga Awards in March 2015. A TV anime adaptation by MAPPA was broadcast in Summer 2016. Two OVAs have also been bundled with the manga's 21st and 22nd limited edition volumes on March 17 and May 17.

Very nice, enjoyed this show a lot, and glad about the OVA's to connect stuff before the sequel.

But my God look at the relese dates. Last OVA on July 2018. I wonder will the 2nd season start before the OVA's finish or after it, cause if its after it, them damn we've got a long way to go.

Oh - OVAs are a nice thing and bundled with manga means cheaper than normal OVAs - so I'm in.

well, what made you not decide to drop it in the first place. No one is forcing you to watch it.

Can't believe the OVA's are gonna be the sequel, kinda sad.

As long as the matches are animated I guess and I mean that literally.

probably end up not watching it on release and come back to it a year later. same thing happened with nanatsu no taizai, really enjoyed the series and was pumped for the sequel which they then later announced to be an ova. :/ since they're finally doing a nanatsu no taizai season 2 maybe we'll get an actual season 2 for days in 2020

I hope this doesn't become a trend with sequels. In this series case, there's probably not enough content to work with.

I've been waiting almost a year for season 2 and then this shit happens. That's kinda depressing.
