Has anyone else noticed the female-looking titan that Levi killed on his way to the beast titan? Idk maybe it was just me but that caught me off guard. Great Chapter though!

She kinda looked like Marina Inoue (Armin's voice actress in the anime).

Awww Erwin. Hope he isn't dead but if he is...like a boss.
Armin is really regressing here back to chicken shit Armin. Come on son, get your head out your ass and save everyone. He won't make commander with this defeatist attitude.
LevI has to be found out. Killing as he travels is a little too obvious. Would have been better if he just used them as giant pilars

Eren is such a useless piece of shit.
I really like Erwin but after such a manly speech, he really needs to go or else he'll be ruined, don't fuck it up Isayama and give him one last memorable speech right before his death.

The Plot Armored Titan is the last thing these guys needed right now. I was hoping Reiner was just going to stay dead, wtf. Idk how the fuck they're gonna get out of this situation, Eren can't do shit against Bertolt, and he'll never be able to handle Bert + Reiner fighting together.

But on another note, Erwin is pretty much guaranteed to die (and if he doesn't, then this chapter would be such a huge middle finger and would feel like a waste of an epic moment). I liked him, and I'll be sad to see him go, but this was a long time coming. I really hope to one day hear Daisuke Ono deliver that speech once this gets animated at some point, I'm sure he'll absolutely kill it. Also, please don't die Levi........

So now let's see how much did the mangaka change the story. With this setting at least someone have to die. If no one die, then it's going to be the same as fairy tail's plot armour

Amazing chapter! From start to finish I didn't lose interest. This was probably the best chapter of this arc thus far. Erwin's speech was so powerful I felt like I was there "Rage my soldiers! Scream my soldiers! Fight my soldiers!" I couldn't think of a more epic way to go out. I agree with some of the other posts on here, it would be stupid not to mention illogical for Erwin to survive that attack.

I usually don't praise this guy because everyone's always dick riding him, but I got to say this was one of my favorite Levi moments. He made a cold decision that he clearly didn't want to make and decided to bet everything on his own abilities, while his commander and comrades sacrifice themselves to give him a better chance against the beast Titan. "Give up on that dream and die. Lead those new recruits into hell. And I will take down the beast Titan." But still even before he said those words he was trying to think of ways to save as many lives as possible.

He put a lot of pressure on his self and we don't know if he'll be successful but I have no doubt he's about to be the first real obstacle that the beast Titan has faced since his introduction.

Eren is barely conscious, Mikasa is injured, and my boy Armin is too panicked to come up with anything, while Jean is doing is best to lead. The colossal Titan and the armored Titan are both in action, while hange squad seems to be dead. Honestly though Reiner should be dead, but not even going to get into that. Anyway this is Truly a hopeless scenario. It seems Isayama is reverting back to showing us real despair.

Actually Levi could act as a decoy (he's more than capable) and weaken the beast titan just enough for Erwin to use the serum and eat Zeke. Levi could have handed him the serum off-camera during their conversation.

Only thing we see is despair, but many of us have thought of ways they might get out of this battle.

It's a long shot, but I'm going to say that Reiner still being alive and all of the past instances where he is confused in the head aren't coincidences. That guy is going to have some part to play in humanities chances, whether it's turning in this battle or back home (once Eren is captured).

Just a guess of course. Other ideas include multiple captures with some hiding and making it back. Annie has to come back into play at some point, maybe for answers for those still alive in the walls. Looking forward to seeing how this continues.

Eren being kicked up that wall has some meaning too it just think about what other way could he have gone up that wall in his Titan form. But that makes them maybe being able to go over the wall and maybe help Levi in a way and make the battle out side the city so they stop destroying the city just a theory but there's a reason isayama got eren kicked up the wall it could be nothing just him showing the difference from eren and colossal Titan but it would be cool them fighting with Levi it's the best way to go out Squad Levi is the last that stands

There are still several things that can/will sway the battle in the Survey Corps favor:

- The Beast Titan does not know that they have a serum. None of his fool-proof planning has factored this in. Maybe it all comes down to an Acker-Titan vs Beast Titan battle.

- Hange is still unaccounted for. If alive, her appearance is likely to catch Team Beast off guard and create the critical opening they need - or rescue someone from certain death (Erwin hopefully)

- Eren still has the chance to get in touch with his Coordinate power. The Wall is damaged and may expose one or more of the Colossal Titans inside to sunlight and bring them under his control.

- Reiner has grown a brain. It might have reset "soldier mode" and immediately gun for the Berthold and give Armin a chance to finally come up with something better than "Hey Bert! Annie's getting raped!"

- Ymir is still out there

I have been considering that at some point, the titans in the wall could come under Coordinate power. It might take something like that to bring down Bertholdt.

I have no clue where the serum will come into play. I would have guessed that while Reiner was weak, that could have been a good moment to devour him. On the other hand, once Annie gets out of her shell.... Levi or whoever using it would have to devour a titan.

This battle looks so much like a final battle, but there are just too many questions left unanswered. Either there is capture and eventual escape from the "home village" (assuming happier ending) or there is some kind of turnaround here. Actually, there are too many possibilities. I'm just enjoying seeing where this goes.

There's only one ending to the series I can think of that will upset me, and that's if the Titans really are related to the whole plant thing/saving the planet/humans must be destroyed BS that could be possible. But even that theory is a reach. Here's hoping to something fulfilling for us all.

I really doubt Levi will (be able to?) take down the beast titan next chapter. The beast titan hasn't revealed enough about its/himself yet, so killing it now would be really weird and simply unlogical. I'm guessing either Erwin and the others will survive thanks to Eren or something, or they all die and Levi fails to take down the beast, causing him to have a Levi-rage moment like he did in No Regrets after the deaths of Isabel and Farlan. Also, is Hanji dead? I sure hope not!

Perhaps; although this is a very far-sought prediction; what if Erwin and the others die, and Levi fails to take him down. Then, being desperate and reckless after having all those deaths on his hands, Levi takes the serum, manages to eat Berthold or Reiner, and brawls with the beast titan as a titan himself? Technically possible or nah?

My guess is that the serum will go to someone who is critically injured / close to death - it might end up being Erwin (since he's already starting to get shredded in that last panel). Levi is more useful as a human in his 3DMG than an unpredictable and inexperienced Titan - and if the choice is left to him it seems logical that he'd want Erwin to continue.

Titan Erwin vs Beast Titan seems like the most fitting final 1 v1 battle in this story. But I doubt it will come to that.

I had goosebumps during Erwin's speech , shit was so fucking epic !!!!

though I have a strong feeling that he's not gonna die , Isayama doesn't have the balls to kill a popular character like Erwin , at least not now. And it'd suck so bad if Isayama wasted that epic moment , I might even drop it if that happened

Eren will definitely use the coordinate in the next chapter , like there's no other way that that.

And yeah , I'm almost certain that Reiner is back with the (Soldier) personality , He'll somehow cooperate with Jean and the others.

By now, we know that the Beast Titan can not only create mindless titans, but also control them. So why is the Coordinate such a big deal? Can the Beast Titan only control the titans it creates?

Also, when exactly did Eren eat his father? It seemed to me that Eren was with Mikasa and Armin throughout the day Wall Maria first fell, so when could the whole serum/transforming/eating thing have happened?

I'd have to guess that it's like having nukes. You have them, but someone else you don't trust or don't like, whatever and however deep the reason, seems to be getting them. Not wanting to wait around and let them get stronger and more efficient (control more titans...wall titans?), you strike. However, who knows what prompted the timing of the first attack on the wall people to want the coordinate at that point in time versus any other.

I hope Erwin does with a speech like that, Isayama can't keep him alive now.

I think this is the only series where the Villains have more plot armour than the heroes, it's ridiculous how many times Reiner manages to survive those deathly blws one after the other. The only hope they have now is for Eren to take control of the titans or Levi to take the serum and some how turn into a ttitan shifter, which is impossible unless it's because of him being an Ackerman.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the Survey Corps. They only came up with a counter-measure against Reiner/Armored Titan. Did they seriously not come up with something against Bertholdt/Colossal Titan? If you're expecting them to ambush you, one would assume you'd have a plan to hold either off... the Beast Titan, I can understand as not much is known about it, but the Colossal Titan we know has a massive amount of power (given all it took was one kick to break a hole in both walls) and emits very hot vapor/steam. You'd think that maybe they could've made some thermal-based protective clothing? From what it looks to me, Bertholdt is overly dependent on his steam to protect his nape.

All of this looks way too suspicious if you ask me. I find it hard to believe that the Survey Corps would not prepare that much against 3 shifters.

The Survey Corps actually had a strategy against the Colossal Titan. Move around it until it tires out and his steam runs out. Which is what they did when they fought against the Colossal the first time, back when it was revealed who it was. It was also what Hange ordered them to do before being interrumped by Armin. Granted, it was hardly the best strategy, but it was something.
My theory for what is going to happen next: yes I think the Coordinate will be used, but not the way everyone is expecting. I think that the First King will take control of Eren and use the Coordinate himself. I know that Eren is not a Reiss and it is said that he can't be influenced be the Will of the First king, but does that mean that he is completely immune to it?. I think the First King will only control him temporarily, or will otherwise communicate with Eren somehow. What do you think?

Thia chapter was pure epicness. While I think Levi might use the serum on Erwin, I also think that Erwin must die. I really like the character, but after this speach, it will feel like a troll if he survives by the power of plot. I do not think he will die next chapter thogh. I think he will be the catalist for more information on the beast titan. Still that charge was one of the best ways i've seen a character being put on the green mile. I think only Levi and Marlowe will survive that attack.
But theories aside, our guys are pretty much boned right now. Eren is getting his butt kicked. Rainer is back up, Hange is nowhere to be found, Armin can't think of anything, and Mikasa actually looks terrified. Outside everyoen is dying... Apparenly things are going towards the end. I don't think they'll be showing us a whole new scouting legion being recruited and trained before they try again. So, somehow our people must win this one, or escape it. I hope it ain't gonna be an asspull.

George RR Martin would shred tears if he reads this manga.
-Way too perfect.

this song's lyrics describes perfectly the situation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc2rOFKCQXc
There seems to be no way out of this situation.

The only way they could get out of this is that Eren instantly fully controls it's power. If he does so, he will break the perfect titan formation.

My prediction is:
Erwin and the suicide squad will die.
Hange, Armin, Jeanne, Connie, Sasha, Mikasa, Levi will make it out alive riding Eren's back.
Hange will take command of the survey corps, as Erwin told her before.
Armin will have a Breakdown, blamiing himself for the failure of the mission.
Jean and Hange will be the only ones to conserve composure.

Yah i'm with you. Not understanding all the hate. But if Hajime Isayama we're to kill them off now, as most would want, it would mean losing all that possible background information about the homeland.
