I recently just finished Nagi no Asukara. The anime is great. The romance in this anime really unique and different from other romance anime that I have watched. It's different from any tear-jerking anime like Angel Beats and so.

I want and anime like that. An anime which bring out the emotion whether sad, heartbreaking, happy. An anime that you can feel how frustrated the character, how happy the character feel. It doesn't matter whether you are not in the same boat as I'm for Nagi no Asukara but I want your recommendation about anime that really evoke your emotion.

And I don't really care about the genre as long as the anime have decent artwork.
Thank you :)

I will give it a try. But actually it's not necessary to be some sad or tear-jerking anime. As long as the anime can bring out the emotion out of me, that's fine.

It depends. It can be sad for some people. It can be really annoying to some people. It can be really really stupid to some people. At the end of the anime I was like ''Why the fuck would you do this?''

So yeah.

Yeah School Days well absolutely wreck your world. I personally despise it.

Anyway for anime that are filled with the feels. I'm just going list things that are feel heavy.

Clannad and Clannad: After Story are a must for anyone's romance anime list.

Akame ga Kill
It will wreck you emotionally by the end. Good luck to any you pick as your favorite.

Black Bullet
The last episode really hits you.

Bakuman.
(3 seasons)
This one really connects you with the characters and you can't help but get happy and sad with the characters success and failures. This also has romance (3 marriages in all) and the characters age 14 to 24.

Higashi no Eden
11 episodes and 2 movies
The romance isn't the driving factor in this show, but its really enjoyable to see how it plays out. Great piece of story and the art is really interesting as its different from a lot of shows.

Madoka Magica
Either watch the tv series + 3rd movie, or watch all 3 movies. The 1st and 2nd movie is just the tv series in movie form.
Its an absolute destruction of the magical genre. Seriously. If you don't think your a fan of a magical girls, that 100% fine, but you'll need to watch this one. The feels are real and don't let the opening theme trick you into thinking that its going to be cute and nice. The ending theme reveals its true nature quite well.

Spice and Wolf
2 seasons, and that's the english name.
It's a real difference in the romance genre as its not high school kids, instead its about a man who is a merchant and meeting an immortal wolf goddess (who can from girl to wolf) and there travels together. Its nice, because its actual adults and the role economics plays into is very entertaining.

Shinsekai Yori
It's an emotional train ride all the way through, and this show replaced Steins;Gate as my #2 favorite after I saw it. Its a brilliant piece of storytelling and world building. Its got some yuri and yoai scenes in episode 8, but its just kissing. And doesn't last long. Episode 8 is when a lot of people drop it, because of that.

Working!!
3 seasons to this show.
Its a romance comedy. It had me in stitches many a time with laughter so its a truly marvelous work of feels mainly because its so lighthearted and funny. Its a great show to watch when you want to feel like a something light to just enjoy with nothing dark to it.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
2 seasons, the Japanese name is to long so I'm doing the english.
Its genere is obvious from the title. It has the most flawed protagonist that you could possibly ever get in a show. Yet it is the MC flaws that make this show so appealing and great. It actually makes you think of actual high school kids in how the MC acts. A group of kids that rarely get represented as how they truly are, the broken and outcast ones that nobody likes. This is a must watch in my opinion.

That's really hard to recommend, since lots of stuff I get emotional watching, like Fairy Tail, is seen was shit and cliche by others. But I'll try, actually most of my high rated shows are in that category.

Fairy Tail - Happiness
Shingeko no Kyojin - Sadness
Death Note - Sadness
No Game No Life - Happiness
Sword Art Online - Sadness

+1 to Madoka Magica and Clannad/Clannad AS

Ano Natsu De Matteru - mostly a comedy, has some SERIOUS feels in the latter episodes though.

Sakamichi no Apollon (personal favorite of my recs) Great romance/drama. Awesome soundtrack and art style with a great 60s setting.

Usagi Drop makes you feel REALLY happy and at peace. Great for when you wanna get them positive vibes going! :p

How come noone mentioned One Piece while they recommend shitty anime like Fairy Fail or Akame ga Kill? The CP9 saga is more emotional than anything else listed in this thread, if you have skipped it check it out asap.

Death Parade for sure, even if it is an episodic anime and you don't get attached to characters that much it worked for me.

Ode To My Father on Netflix. Korean film by JK Youn.

Never cried (in a good way) so many times during a movie.

It's like Forrest Gump on steroids.
