They don't get much popularity because of a lack of their anime adaptations..but i think they have potential

Yep, Ares is a fucking masterpiece.

Most manga I've read doesn't even come close to the quality of that manhwa.

Yes, I've read Ability (now discontinued T.T), Noblesse (freaking awesome), and PhD Phantasy Degree (meh). I enjoy how I can read them left to right and how there's a higher possibility that they will be colored. There are some differences between Korean and Japanese culture and the translations don't tend to go as smoothly. A good amount of manhwa are actually webtoons instead of manhwa, and as such they're harder to access and aren't even on MAL.

Yepp, I've read few manhwas. Korean shoujos look nice (well, maybe with an exception going to Hwang Mi Ri. All her manhwas look the same and have the same plot).

Shounen/seinen mangas are usually of the highest quality.

Also, one of my favs is manhwa - yaoi one.

Here here. *raising hand*
Noblesse is good. Also Tower of God.

"Wielding one's blade out of duty alone is what it means to be a captain. Wielding one's blade out of hatred is nothing more than petty violence. That is not what we would consider battle."

Some of them are interesting, but manhwa culture feels really far behind manga.

Some Manhwa have some very great art. I do prefer manga. So far manga stories and settings are something that I have just prefered. I have only read a few Manhwa so far. Even without color I do really enjoy the high contract of black and white manga.

I do! There's a number of really good ones! I really wish more would be available in print in the US, but it's also a bit of a harder sell, I think because of Tokyopop's OEL days, manhwa seemed to get lumped in with the OEL as "knockoff manga", and it's never quite recovered from that idea imo.

But manhwa is such a different beast from manga, I must say. It's like, the comics from every country is always a different beast somehow. The shonen (or whatever their word is) is more similar to manga than a lot of their shojo is, imo. And sure, there's manhwa junk, but there's manga junk too, so that's hardly different. But there's a lot more manga over here than manhwa, so junk manhwa reflects more poorly since it's a larger percentage of the manhwa available.

But some of my favs:
13th Boy
Goong
Hotel Africa
One Thousand and One Nights
Threads of Time
Void's Enigmatic Mansion

Me~
I've read some manhwa,
my favourite psychological genre are Annarasumanara and Dr. Frost, for shoujo-like genre is Story of someone we know. Thriller genre is Distant sky. Comedy genre- at each other's throat. Shounen-like genre is Noblesse. But lately there are a lot... lots of yadong manhwa/porn manhwa (- -)
