Do you think they are good merchandise to collect?
Do you own one? If not, what figure would you like to own?

I can't have one myself because I'd freak out my parents with buying dolls but I'd love a Hachikuji

I personally feel it's a waste of money, that can be spent on better stuff.

Don't own them, don't plan to buy them. However I have 50-80$ posters on the walls in my house, this is a better way to dexorate the house imo.

I do own some. They aren't that expensive where I live. I used to collect some anime merchandise when I was younger, mostly artbooks and postcards though. It was like a hobby along with getting the manga.

I own a figure of Gon from HxH and I have to say, it was a waste of money. I don't do anything with it. But now that I've gotten one, I feel like getting the rest of them from HxH, although I probably won't because they are a waste of money.

I mean they're just collectibles, so there isn't really a problem with them. However, I personally wouldn't buy any, because all they would do is collect dust and there is better stuff that I can purchase that has way more uses.

They're pretty cool, but not worth my money to get personally. My friend likes to collect figures, but he keeps finding himself indebted. XD

They're really expensive in my place, so I plan not to buy them. I just buy useful items, like bags with the design of a certain anime or a death note notebook.

I have a few. I have everything on display and I like them and all, but in the end they're pretty pointless. Maybe it's just a change in my interests, but while I'm a bit completionist, it just drives me crazy. I want all the pretty figures of all my favorite characters and I don't have the money for that, lol. So I'd rather have nothing. I'm not going to buy any more, and I don't have a problem letting the ones I have go. I think cheaper random merch like keychains and straps are better.

I like them as far as merchandise goes. They are expensive though, so I have yet to buy any for myself, as I tend to enjoy purchasing DVD/BD copies of anime I've enjoyed to fill out my shelves with the money I'd be using for figures.

However, my younger brother has gotten me a few anime and video game related figures, and as much as some people may say that they only collect dust (which is a fair point), it really comes down to what you value collecting. I'm personally a bit of a hoarder/collector, and while I may currently value expanding my media collection for now, I can see myself picking up a few figures for myself in the sort-of near-future.

It is okay to own one to due it being much of a 'collect' kind of thing, only thing bad is the cost of it. I like collecting stuff and due to it being expensive, affording it is already hard to get one.

In the future, I would gladly get a hold of figurines of my favourite characters.

I've spent thousands of dollars on figures of all types. Plushies too!

My bed is currently holding two body pillows, a third soon to come. The shelves that surround me are completely filled with figures, I also have literally no wall space anymore due to posters and wall scrolls. I actually had to modify my room to have more shelves late last year since the little people I own are spilling onto my desk space. My closet is also totally filled with boxes of said figures, just recently filled it completely and now have to store boxes under my desk.

And to think this all started with just one little cheap bootleg. Didn't expect it to spiral into a complete obsession.

They're the best and the worst. I spend ridiculous amounts of money on them "because they're pretty". XD

.............though they DO help with drawing sometimes. That's something good.

I own some so therefore, I have a positive view on them.

But it's clearly not for everyone, and they can be expensive.

It's a collectible hobby for people....although, I think some people go to far and buy WAAAAY too much.

Then again, if it makes you happy, and you have the money....go for it!

I like them but authentic figures are really pricey and I can't afford to spend my money on them. I only have one figure and it was a gift (Himeji from BakaTest).

I like nendoroids though because they're cute as fvck especially Aoba from DMMD but unfortunately my local anime store doesn't sell the ones I like.

They seem to be a big drain of money (though if you think like that then all the non-essentials are a waste of money..) and really would do nothing but collect dust, but I really would like to buy some in the near future.

They're pretty and since my room is void of anything to represent me except for like 3 posters they could help brighten up the place a little.

I have around 20ish figures, probably half of them are nendoroids, they're affordable and come with several different poses/facial expressions/accessories. The larger scale figures I have I really enjoy, I keep them all in a glass display case and look very nice and don't collect dust which is nice too. You can get pretty creative with the layouts of how you display them and make great decorative pieces.

I only have one actual figure (Enoshima Junko from Dangan Ronpa) which I got at a convention for cheap because the box was damaged and the seller didn't want it anymore.

I also have three more, but they're the really small, mystery box ones. Luckily I got all the ones I wanted, so the money was worth it.

That said, I do like figures, but I wouldn't buy any more. They take up a lot of space that I don't have and I'd rather use the money on other things.

I finally have a couple myself after wanting some for so long, but I doubt my collection will ever get that massive. They're awesome for those that can afford it, but as many have said it's a very expensive hobby if you want ones that look good.

It's also one of those types of merchandise that I feel get negative criticism far too much for being a very "weebish", which is pretty sad. They're a great collectible for appreciation of a character or their design, not just for weird perverted reasons. I mean, figures for basically just that reason do exist, but majority are still very tasteful.
