Which manga affected you the most? The one that consumed most of your time, gave you the most feeling and left the biggest impression, and why?

I will be banal but it is Dragon Ball. It wasn't the most beautiful manga of all time but I grew up with it.

Blame!, it's just an epic journey from start to finish. Gives me a lot of nostalgia.

For me there are two, Sailor Moon (SuperS, Stars, etc.) because I basically was reading as it was being printed so I'd have to order the next manga and then wait weeks for it... uuugh haha

The other is Fruits Basket for similar reasons as I grew up with it, but also volume 16 always makes me cry when I read it... just too many feels >__<;;

So it's mine. And I mean the first part only, not DBZ. I like how it is much more comic/adventure oriented and quite creative also.

Yes, DBZ after Frieza Saga is boring.

the world god only know, time consuming, since i read it from the first chapter that got out until finished, and it open some perspective, though only for little while, since after that harem is common. well at least it is fun.

Oyasumi Punpun. It's the longest manga I've read. I was trapped. Too much deep and dark themes going on. I didn't want to finish, it was damn amazing.

Most Asano manga, but punpun and Girl by the Sea stand out. Welcome to the NHK is one by another mangaka, Boys on the Run...

I'm glad it has been read by so many people now. I actually had a lot of trouble getting people to read it, cause it does kind of start slow and weird for most people's taste. I sound like such a fucking hipster douche, but I read it way before most people lol.

<I've had this avatar since 2012

I actually need to re-read it, cause I read it as it was released. I want to read it more in one quick go.

I have heard a lot about Oyasumi Punpun? Is it really that good? Would I be interested, I like dark things, but mostly with swords (fantasy element)?

Uhhhh, not sure. It gets dark, but it's more psychological/drama/dark comedy.... It's a coming of age story about a troubled boy/man.

Bleach made me appreciate manga as a whole more.
All the expressions in the characters faces and body language was awesome when you take your time and really watch the art.

Emma , Vagabond and Genshiken come to mind. Each one of them is unique in its own way. I've read Genshiken and Emma about 10 times (if not more) and i don't seem to get tired/bored of them. I'm currently reading Vagabond and it's made quite the impression on me.

Anything by Asano really. He is one of the few that actually cares about real people enough to make realistic stories.

one piece/bleach/naruto

grew up with them since i was like 6 years old. it was really heartbreaking for me when naruto ended because when you read something like that continously for 11+ years.. the characters are, idk i won't say real, but pretty damn important to you.

For getting me into manga? Tokyo Mew Mew and Ranma 1/2 were among my first, but I actually dislike them (a lot) now.

For consuming my soul, even to this day, Banana Fish. I still name myself online after the main character frequently (when it's not for Princess Tutu characters, my favorite anime)

Loving a manga, its characters is different than being affected by a manga, right? Then I'd say Watashitachi no Shiawase Na Jikan and Annarasumanara

Annarasumanara or sth.
Consumed most of my time? That'd be Detective Conan or One Piece.
Biggest impression would still be Annarasumanara. It's a really good depiction of our society, a very touching story.
Or else it'd be One Piece. Merely because it is that good.

First I watched the anime that was incomplete, and then I read the manga and wow for a psychological trip this is worth checking out and in my opinion the antagonist is hard to interpret Nakamura Sawa I don't wanna say too much about the manga but its worth checking out this manga touched my soul literally

By the time I started dabbling in manga, I'd watched a fair bit of anime. After I'd finished Berserk I realized I didn't finish it and read through the entire manga up until this last chapter.

Like many others on this thread, I'll go with Oyasumi Punpun. Even if i did read it a couple of years ago I still feel a bit nervous when I remember about it, it was really touching

Also, it is my only 10/10, counting anime and manga
