Is Kingdom better than Berserk? I'm curious about Vagabond and Vinland Saga, but they are incomplete, which really sucks, would prefer something that has an ending.

Kingdom is also incomplete, but there are many chapters to read(over 400). It's equal to Berserk, I've been reading both and they're my favorites.

shin angyo onshi ^^ (very similar but i liked the mc more, he is clever ^^ )
but its anime is not watch able xD

akame ga kill manga isnt bad (far better than its anime, but i wouldnt call it better than berserk. still if you want dark fantasy its worth a shot)

Is Blade of the Immortal worth reading? Is it finished?

Recommend me some finished series :). I'm intrigued by kingdom and Vinland saga, but neither of them are finished and I don't want to go through the same thing like with Berserk.

Why dont uu just watch SAO, Kirito is much better swordsman than Guts. Like one guy above said he is the only real black swordsman.

SAO and AGK won't please you

Try the manga Vagabond, art wise it's just as good as Berserk and the characters/story is pretty good :

Take a look at the movie Sword of the Stranger if you haven't yet. If you loved Berserk you will probably like this one.

I have added SAO on my list (since it's finished). Anything more?

I know it's hard to say anything that's better than Berserk and finished, but I would be happy with something that's even close and has the same style. One bad ass hero/antihero, and very dark story that doesn't pull any punches.

claymore is not bad (but female lead)

Kingdom would be my pick if you want something somewhat similar (though a lot more realistic)

As for what is best... as always that's down to personal preference. I liked it more than Berserk at least since it's a lot more intelligent and strategical in terms of execution rather than just GAR and epic art

Shigurui, except for the fantasy factor it surpasses Berserk in pretty much the rest of the elements, both are my favorite seinen at the end of the day.

As many people have said, the closest you'll come is probably Vinland Saga if you want something similar, though if you don't really care about that and just want something great to read I'd strongly recommend these:

Oyasumi Punpun - By far the greatest manga I've ever had the pleasure of reading. The art is nothing short of godlike, the story is brilliantly told as it follows Punpuns life from early childhood to somewhere in his twenties, all while dealing with strong themes of depression and so much nihilism it would put Nietzsche to shame. It finished at 147 chapters, with the last 40 or so being so intense it drove a couple of my friends into actual depression, golden age got nothing on that. Oh and the main character is drawn as a silly looking cartoon bird, no joke.

Zetman - Basically why I don't read western superhero comics. It's just so fucking good (though unfortunately not finished)

7seeds - Don't let the art fool you, this manga can be brutal when it needs to be. The less I say about the plot the better, it mixes about 500 different genres but is mostly a survival drama sort of thing set in an unspecified time in the future. Also not finished (the best ones rarely are) but soooo good. The chapters also have a lot going on in them so it feels much longer than it looks (which is good)

Zetman sounds and looks really interesting! I will add it to my list.

I'm not sure the rest of them fit. I don't like futuristic stuff, and I prefer fantasy (although I also enjoy some realistic parts).

Didn't really find Claymore to be anything special to be honest. Didn't find the main character interesting, felt more like more child friendly version of Berserk.

Quick update - I'm reading Shin Angyo Onshi, it pretty good. Not Berserk standard, but I can see the similarities, hoping to see where it goes.
Next is Zetman and Rainbow.

Alright, I have to lower my standards: Just a story with a badass antihero, good action, dark/brutal story and fast paced. Anything more? Also, not anything futuristic.

I have to put Vinland Saga, Kingdom, Vagabond (etc) on hold, since they are unfinished.

I do agree Oyasumi Punpun is a work of pure genius but it seems OP is looking for something more action oriented, aside from the great art and the dark as hell story they really don't have a lot in common.

I can add that Shin Angyo Onshi is really amazing, now that I have read most of it! Reminds a lot of Berserk, although Berserk is still better. The artwork and tone is really between dark and comedy.

I also originally liked that Shin Angyo Onshi manga but it got pretty boring and had no satisfying climax in any arc and had to drop it, so i dont see how it can be compared with Berserk in any way.

Also, did i hear someone mentioning that overrated turd Akame Ga Kill? What an insult to Berserk to be compared with a manga that shows blood and kills character only for the shock value while it is nothing but a copy paste from other manga that bring nothing of quality story wise to the table.
