So 900k total for SnK. And over 600k for Naruto Gaiden! That's kinda shocking to me. And Bleach had a good week as well. Overall a ton of sales this week, 12 different volumes with over 100k sales this week (13 if you include SnK's limited edition). Lots of manga being bought I guess...

Yeah I thought since it's a spin off it would sell in the 200k range at most :o

Prison School seems to have received a healthy boost, I think to remember before the anime it wouldn't go above 75k. Cool.

And there's One Punch-Man which already sells very well, if the anime gives it a good push I could see it reach Haikyuu's level in the future.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Damn, that's something else. Well, the Naruto franchise is currently in a huge resurgence since the ending of the manga, immense success of LAST, and what looks to be an even bigger success with Boruto. It's 2005 all over again.

This week was too strong for Kongdom's backlog volume to appear but they probably still sold out of the Top 50.

SNK is really kicking ass, I didn't even notice all the spinoffs.

It seems to be quite a bit more popular than last year it seems, volume 16 has sold nearly 1.8 million while last year, the volume released in April (13) only reavhed close to that at the end of the year.

The live action didn't boost it but that's to be expected since it's not really well received.

I honestly thought Naruto would be at top since its 6 days worth of sales compare to snk 3 days worth of sales. Volume 17 sales sold less in its first week than 16 and 15. But before people saying that snk is losing fans, remember that at the end of the year is when you can make such statement.

The first week only shows how much people rush out to buy the series in the first 3 days.

It seems to just be an overall huge week for manga, just a ton of new releases.

Boku No Hero Academia is really doing a good job I guess the anime adaptation is a matter of time.
Black Clover also surprises me! Time to start reading it.

On the other hand, Blood Lad is doing terribly! No good, I care for this series :(

Huh weird. Even though volume 16 of SnK charted again which I guess is due to the boost from live action movie but volume 17 kind of sold less than the previous volumes.

To make a fair comparison.

Volume 14 sold 1,011,099 in 3 days.

*1. 852,757 852,757 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.14

*6. 158,342 158,342 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.14 Limited Edition

Volume 17 sold only 904,463 in 3 days.

*1. 771,157 *,771,157 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.17

Yeah a 100k difference isn't something to sneeze at, but I guess the fact this week was so packed didn't help. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up next week.

Meh, Shingeki no Kyojin. Boring series.

Good job, Naruto.

Haikyuu doing solid like always.

Good stuff from Shokugeki no Soma.

Nice to see Bleach still kicking. Let's get that anime back.

One Punch Man selling good and without the anime airing yet. Awesome stuff.

Generic Harem Fest Nisekoi. For otaku and weebs.

Gintama doing straight. Great stuff Gorilla-Sensei.

Boku no Hero Academia selling pretty good. Can't wait for an anime announcement (Inb4 Toei Oh God).

Prison School... Don't care.

Also, Black Clover. A very, very cliche shonen manga, with below average writing, but entertaining at least.

Firstly, Naruto >>>> Attack on Titan by a mile. No contest.

Secondly, Shokugeki no Soma has an anime and gets advertisement by JUMP. Yet, it barely sold more than Bleach, which has no anime and no advertisement at all.

Shokugeki no Soma is not even remotely close to surpassing Bleach. And this is Bleach out of it's prime. Shokugeki no Soma would never be able to accomplish what Bleach did back when it had an anime and proper advertisement from JUMP

It's a pity, unfortunately.

Well, in the list,

*4. 292,899 *,292,899 Shokugeki no Souma Vol.14
*8. 223,596 *,223,749 Gintama Vol.60
*6. 280,191 *,280,191 One Punch-Man Vol.9

This are what really interesting me. Good job for all.

And think totaly unnecessary who struggles about sales between Bleach and SnS, about what have higher boost, what have Jump advertisement, already that even being shounens, and of same magazine, your target public is very different, and the public of Bleach for sure most embracing than a battle shounen with food in focus like SnS.

And the low hype around Bleach by Jump nowadays, if should specially the himself, and the quality each more time low of the chapters. And, one day, I were a big fan this manga, and hurt me how it continued. But, well, personal opinion.
