| When I watch anime on TV in the living room when my parents are around sometimes they half watch it, usually while reading the paper. My mom didn't mind some Studio Ghibli movies and quite liked Death Note. She didn't like Free, she thought it was boring. I think my dad quite liked Black Butler because I think he found it funny even though he didn't really watch it properly. ' Not sure if either of them like Bleach or Honey and Clover, my mom was sort of watches both, I think she was slightly interested in Honey and Clover season 2 today. I think my mom likes Pokemon XY aka the first series of Pokemon I've watched in years. And my dad too a bit, I think it amuses them lol. |

There was a scene where Blair was trying to "seduce" Soul and his nose was bleeding, you know, it was just a really uncomfortable scene to watch with your parents....my dad just said I should find something else to watch.... |

| I got my Mom into anime and manga. She's watched over half the series I have on my list because we have similar taste. I also got her into BL. My Dad, on the other hand, is a lost cause. He's exceedingly close-minded, hence there's no point in trying to make him understand my interests. At least I'm not living with him. |

Yes, but I have to hijack the living room TV in order to do it for TV series since they don't have the attention span. If they're around long enough they'll get interested. They're much more interested in seeing movies in the theater though when the local arthouse theater gets them in. That's why they like Ghibli movies, Ghost in the Shell, and Cowboy Bebop. |

They made Kaneki look even more pathetic and they butchered almost all Aogiri arc. The torture scene lost a lot of shock value and all of the arcs were rushed/mixed/ there was a lot of content important for character development cut. Not to mention prepostrous censorship. They even changed the fucking fight scenes, the fucking fight scenes. Fuck Pierrot. Here's my response for one user to whom I told why the manga is better if some of you are interested:(IT WAS WRITTEN WHILE FIRST SEASON ENDED): Tokyo Ghoul anime is rushed as hell and it lacks a lot of character development not just for Kaneki, but for side characters as well. To put it bluntly, it's a rushed mess. They skip or alter a lot of important scenes and Keneki is even more pathetic in the beginning of anime than in the beginning of the manga. The fights are also quite different. I also hate the fact that it is censored, BD'S are coming out now, but they even edited the plot because of the consorship, due to that we will never get some animated scenes uncensored. For example Yamori doesn't kill a man and a woman who's in love, let's say that he murders a couple of people that are even more close in front of Kaneki's eyes. Not to mention how anime depicts Tsukiyama in Gourmet Arc as less evil, there's a reason why the entire TG manga community calls him trash. The manga has a better shock value if you are looking for gore. The manga is worth reading since it maintains those details that makes it special and If you think that you saw some epic scenes in the anime, they were just fragments, they are not even close to the real thing that is in the manga. Kaneki's transformation is the best scene of the series and anime screwed it up by cutting some amazing things from the manga, his fight with Yamori was completely different from the manga and his inner monologue was shorter. I have to mention that S2 will have an anime original ending and the mangaka is working on it, since he hated the first season himself. (Comment: Too bad it turned out to be even a bigger peace of shit) |

You are entitled to your opinion, man, but you needlessly put tons of text into a thread that isn't about it. I still think the adaptation is good, but it's the source material that wasn't very good from the start for me. |
