| Billions live in poverty and yet only a few thousand own more than anyone will ever earn in several lifetimes. This has been true since the dawn of human civilization - power and wealth has always been largely concentrated amongst only a few percentage of people. Hence would human civilisation collapse if the 1% didn't own 80% of the world's wealth? Or are there other alternatives but are being suppressed to prevent the balance of power and wealth from tilting towards the people? Discuss. |

| Not really the same thing, though that's what I said in theory in the first place, something like that would work if it wasn't for humanity's greed... for now there will be a top 1% but that doesn't mean we should let the gap increase, we need to do what we can to decrease the gap, though I'm not sure how much could be done :( |

| Of course not. The world will be better if the wealth is somewhat balance. The alternative is socialism but people keep relating it to communism. Once automation like robots/computerization takes over all human jobs then expect socialism to spread more or else the world economy will collapse for good or there will be riots everywhere started by the majority (the poor) since only the rich can buy those automation technologies anyway. |
