What are some stingy frugal shit you do to save money?

I use waterbottles for storage when I'm at fountain soda machines.

When I'm alone and I'm getting something from a vending machine; I usually shake it in hopes of getting a 2 for 1 deal when I'm vending.

When I'm at McDonalds, I combine a $1 double cheeseburger and $1 mcchicken to make a poor man's big-mac.

I pocket restaurant utensils if I'm out of personal ones.

When nobody is looking, I bag printer paper for at-home use and money saving.

I do online surveys to buy things I don't need.

I don't ever pay for shipping when ordering from Booktopia, I always go through Booko to get free shipping.

For cinemas and anime conventions I get in with child/under 12 tickets, no one has been suspicious yet.

when i go to wendy's (every other day usually) i ask for free water and then sneakily fill it up with pop after i drink the water. and repeat. the water bottle idea is genius tho, stealing that.

i ask all my girlfriends for tampons cuz those lil tubes of cotton are fucking expensive its like shoving cash up your vagina

on the ttc i make my friends who have a monthly pass swipe me in (bc we're not obese we fit in one of those stall things when u enter the station) to save me $2

i make people use my scene card when buying movie tickets so i can get the points and get free movies

go on dates with desperate mens so they buy me food

sometimes when i'm at ayce sushi and i can't finish something, i sneak it in my purse to throw out later so i don't have to pay extra $3.

more but i dont want to reveal all my secrets. im actually not as cheap as i used to be.

-Not hanging out with friends all the time, or at least not at places where you might spend money
-Just saying you don't need something when you're on the fence about buying it or not
-Choosing the lower quality option IF THERE'S NO REAL DIFFERENCE.
-Buying things maybe even years after they come out so you're not paying $60 for something
-Finding interest in hobbies that don't cost too much, like drawing, writing, etc. Sure, drawing tablets might cost a bit, but unless you treat them like trash they're going to last for a while.
-Hardly ever update your devices/technology. Windows XP, flip phones, and old game consoles forever. Some leeway here if you can find really good Black Friday deals on new consoles
-Live with parents/let your parents pay for food
-Fight the urge to cry whenever you have to break anything more than a $20.
-Tell people you don't ever have money so no one will ask you for any.
-Give yourself a spending limit when going to events
-Don't get the combo, just get the item on its own and bring your own reusable water bottle from home or just get a water cup.

Putting me on the spot like this man..

Erm, well I just use my money wisely, for example, practically everything I buy is on some sort of special offer / rollback, I also use the Internet for clothes, games and other stuff as it's usually much cheaper.

Also, quite pathetic, but when I walk the dogs, I make sure I always look around on the ground for money lmao, I've only ever found £5, shame as I've lost much more than that in total.

I've also made some money on the net in my spare time, not much though..

The best money saving technique is not buying things you don't need. It's impossible to follow strictly, but, as a loose rule, it's useful for saving. The closer you follow the rule, the more stingy you are.

Besides that, I like to buy second hand and sell my old stuff. Old video games (and systems), computer stuff, furniture, whatever. On several occasions, I've purchased second hand video games, played them, and then sold them for an equal amount. A great way to spend $0 (ignoring time and opportunity costs).

- eating the same cheap noodles for lunch or not at all. Usually the latter.
- not ordering any form of drinks when eating out
- take other people McDs when they say it's ok and they are full. The food is cold but i don't think i have the right to complain. Nevertheless, it's better than nothing.
- not having friends.
- prefer walking to reach places if the distance is reasonable
- no books. Refer online for study.

This reminds me, when I was poor as shit I'd put my school ID + last years ID in one pocket and the bus card in the other of the card holder. When I beep on with the school ID side the machine would tell me to seek assistance and the driver would tell me to just get on the bus.

I don't think that I really do anything that could be classified as being cheap.
I mean, I do shop the sales, but I'll buy the items that I need and the brand that I want even if they are not on sale.

I do refill my old water bottles at a Brita water bottle station, though, if that counts.

It would probably take about an hour and a half to jog off a McChicken double cheeseburger's calories.
So much effort for plastic tasting fast food.

Preach it. If I'm going to pig out and eat loads I at least want food that tastes good so it's worth the extra effort on the treadmill.

I've had a junk food diet for years.
Not unhealthy in the slightest and I do like 20 minute workouts.

I get store band names instead of the real band names for soap, medicine, etc.
If I'm low on money I stay home more often and hangout less with friends, unless they go somewhere free.
I get paper napkins when I go out to eat instead of buying paper towels. *hehe*
I won't buy soft drinks unless I can
I use coupons to buy food sometimes or get whatever is on sale.
I wear hand me down clothes.
When I buy my own clothes I wear them for a while. ( I have clothes that I bought and it's been 3-5 years and I can luckily still wear them)
Save your loose change, wait till my big jar is filled up and take it to the bank to turn into cash$$
I keep track of my speeding.
If I see something I want I wait before buying, never buy on impulse.
I try to think of what I need instead of want, so I try to buy only what I need.
I packed lunch for work and school.
Buy in bulk
Always pay bills on time, so no late fees
I buy used books for my school instead of buying them new.
Bottle my own water, never buy it
When buying something i compare prices to other places and pick the cheapest one.
I don't buy music, I listen to it for free.
Turn off all lights before leaving the house/ go to sleep
I use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream
If I buy candy i buy it at a dollar store.
Make my own coffee instead of going to starbucks or somewhere else
I sometimes make my own cleaning supplies
I sometimes take pens from work
I have a four-five day no speed policy of my own. On the weekends is when I spend.
Use cold water to wash clothes
Try to use cash instead because I feel like it's harder to part with, so I don't end up buying those little things i dont need

The only real meal I have is dinner. Breakfast and lunch don't exist for me. Only tiny snacks. Sometimes I don't even eat until dinner. This is a product of laziness and less as a money-saving havit, but hey it saves money.

Also whenever I go out I bring my own water bottle. And I don't buy soda when at restaurants/fast food places.

I don't pay full price for dvd's I go to a trade in place and pay around 3 bucks for them also not paying full price for video games unless I really can't wait.

Drink water restaurants and stick to the cheap menus at fast food places.

I don't pay full price to go to movies, I wait until it comes to our cheap movie theater and then pay 3 bucks to see something and I bring my own food in.

I buy clothes out of season...last year I went to Kohls in the winter and bought a pair of sandals for 25 cents that were usually 20 bucks and I like shop at thrift stores, sometimes I find good stuff.

• Look for my text books online if not purchase a second hand one
• Only buy fruit(s) that are on special
• Go to the library to hire out books (this breaks my collectors heart)
• Buy everything I eat from a grocery store and stick to my food budget
• Use public transport to get to uni
• Try to use as little tooth paste as possible when brushing teeth
• If possible save dinner left overs for the next day
• I heard washing your hair with baking soda is quiet effective
