| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- OMG EPIC WIN! This episode was one of the episode of OP that made me BOL (burst out laughing!) a lot of times, it was freaking hilarious, and it even managed to be suspenseful xD -Nami as a hostage -Chopper the madman! -Luffy "saving" everyone -And omg luffy saving zoro rofl -The crew's reactions and interaction with luffy when on board Definetely the best filler I've seen |

| Man, that Doctor can scream, it was practically a Canary Cry! Chopper's evil mad man act + Zoro's clapping = awesome. And at least the marines aren't entirely useless and remembered to remove the weapons and treasure. Great episode. |

| I thought this episode showed of a fair bit of each of our characters strengths in a natural way. Usopp using goggles and giving some to Sanji while Zoro mocks him for not being able to fight with his eyes closed. Nami being able to fake being a hostage, not unlike how she faked being Arlong’s assistant for nearly her whole life. Robin’s smarts collecting the maps to escape, and her brutality as she yet again snapped like 5 dudes necks??? We saw Zoro use his technique to cut the ropes on Luffy. Chopper had a hilarious display of bravado, one that Zoro appreciated with a cheeky smile. The comedy in this arc is fantastic. I found Jessica’s dilemma about how she’s supposed to hate pirates and never work with them, yet she cannot help but see that Sanji is her ideal of a cook even accidentally quoting him quite powerful. For a small, filler supporting role she, and Mechao are interesting characters. I like how Mechao resonates with Usopp’s love for the Going Merry and how he can tell the Straw Hats aren’t bad people. This is one fun arc! |
| Taking advantage of that hostage situation was a very fun and clever way of making their escape. They even managed to get the gate to open by blowing it up with the Marines' own cannonballs but they forgot one crucial detail that I was pretty worried about before forgetting about it... I wonder how they'll be getting it back if they'll even attempt to do so. |
