| Death Note ep. 27/37 The first half of Death Note was starting to weaken, imo, at the beginning of the Yotsuba arc. But, by episode 23, the anime finally started getting good again. Culminating in episode 25 (an episode I highly doubt DN will ever top), the first half ended in a bang. Now with the introduction of Near and Mello, it seems Light isn't quite in the clear yet. As for these two characters: I like Near, but i'm sort of indifferent to Mello because he sort of reminds me of Light in many ways in his willingness to do anything to accomplish the task at hand. Near is so much like L, it's creepy, yet in some ways it seems like he may be even more dangerous than his predecessor. 8/10, so far. |

| True Tears: 7 It's getting more interesting now. I expected Shin to get with Noe early on and Akemi to always be on the outskirts, but everything is still up in the air and starting get messy after the halfway point. And there was a nice, unexpected Hiromi plot twist that's made her possible relationship with Shin far more complicated, though I don't think there's any truth in what was said. I'm still sticking with my guns and think Shin will end up with Hiromi or no-one, her being the only character Shin has shown an interest in and long haired girls being far more attractive than those with short hair. When I can be arsed, I'll more than likely marathon the six episodes on the final disc. |

| Last night I watched Boogiepop Phantom episode 4, right before I went to sleep. It did its best to mess with my head. XD So far this is a pretty creepy and sad show. I like it. Also, just curious, how are you guys watching the Valkyria Chronicles anime? I didn't think it'd been localized for America yet. Are you downloading it and viewing with fansubs? Also, is it best to play the game before or after you watch the anime? Thanks! |
| Darker than BLACK: 6-10 (re-watched) If episode six and what came before are examples of the series strong points, the opposite is true of 7-8. The preview music, changed from a slightly depressing tune to one more fitting for comedy suggested the two episode story would be a change for the worse, and indeed it was. Comedy has no place in a series titled Darker than BLACK. Comedy has no place in a series that, up until that point, had been deadly serious, including lots of death and no happy endings. So, when episode seven introduced a comical detetive and his 'sexually harassed', pink haired, anime loving assistant, it didn't fit. Even the two stories featured in these episodes, both being about - I kid you not - body odur barely connected, if they did at all. The introductoin if the filler detective is the start of the downward spiral for this series. Episode 9-10 did return to being more serious, but even that story had more light-hearted moments than the first six episodes. It was as if the writers tried too hard to connect Misaki to the story, ending up linking her to the Chinese mafia through her friend, who has a bee sting addiction. (Whenever something is wrong with manga/anime, the Chinese and/or Chinese costumes are to blame. Always.) The episodes were saved by some decent Misaki character development, the villain having an awesome power involving his own blood and Hei smashing through a window at the end. Not on the same level as the opening episodes, though. |
| I'm up to 12/13 of School Rumble. I like it, though I liked it more near the start when the three stories per episode were more random and didn't link together like one big episode with three titles. Comedy isn't my thing - I haven't truly laughed once during the episodes and I wouldn't watch it if I didn't own the DVDs - but even I have to admit to enjoying it a lot. The story is easy to understand, the personalities of the cast are easy to get and the short stories are often very entertaining. It's refreshing to see a series with episodes not forced to last for 20 minutes, the content instead being split into shorter, three stories per episode chunks. It reminds me of Fumoffu; a series with two stories per episode. So far I've gotten great value for money. I may not remember much after watching but the ride has been a highly enjoyable one up to yet. I can see me wanting to buy the second season after finishing the first. It's worthy of its high rating on MAL. |
| Bokura Ga Ita - 21/26 So far I have both loved and hated this anime. I wish the characters would just get their shit together and stop agonizing over everything. I like the general idea but I think this should have been twenty episodes not twenty-six. Maybe then they would be less inclined to run around in circles. I guess that's what happens when the entire series revolves around one issue. |

| The Legend of the Galactic Heroes - 40something/100something So far, perfect. Perfect. The only defects it has are: - The stillness of the animation, especially when they are just characters talking with each other. No matter how interesting is the issue that they are talking about, the fact that they are still does not help me to focus. - The uncoordination of the animation. Especially Yang's. His movements are too slow for what he is saying, the VA is great but there are not enough frames for it. Everything else is just perfect. Good paced as well. so far 8.9/10 (to get more than 9 to me it will have to show me the meaning of life or some schlick service) |

| Legend of the Galactic Heroes 33/110: Still waiting for something actually interesting to happen. So far it's been mediocre at best, filled with plenty of completely unnecessary story elements that slow down the plot even more and rage inducing moments of idiocy ("break their center" *facepalm*). Fate/Stay Night 9/24: So it hasn't actually been very interesting, but I feel obligated to finish it simply so that I can figure out what the hell the writers are doing. Also, Shirou needs to stop the "stay in the kitchen" attitude towards Saber. And figure out how to do anything other than being annoyingly optimistic, nearly dieing every other episode, and building his harem. |

| I'm up to episode 14 of Azumanga, having re-watched the first five episodes. The character introduction period was excellent. However, what followed, starting with the dream episode, wasn't so great. The Sakaki cat issue has gotten reused so much it's no longer funny, Sakaki getting a lot of time and her character not advancing at all, and there simply hasn't been any progression in terms of character development in general. A new character - a more sporty copy of Tomo - has been introduced, but it's gone around in big and increasingly dull circle aside from her. I actually started to fall asleep in places, missing some lines of dialogue as the episode count increased. It isn't as funny, has nowhere near the amount of likable characters and has none of the romance of School Rumble, which I watched previously. I thought it was going to be great to begin with but now I think of it as a mildly entertaining 7.5-8/10 deal. Its saving graces are Yukari, the drunk, fiery and instantly likable teacher and fap worthy Sakaki. |

| Kemono no Souja Erin 13/50 Pretty good, although the writers really need to stop with any and all forms of comic relief, because the writers seem to be completely incapable of writing good comic relief. Also, I think that the shows ranking has been halved (I could swear it was at 2000+ when I started watching it, now it's under 1000). Also, Shangri-la's ranking has been halved, as it used to be ~2500 and now it's at ~1300, I might want to start watching that again. Edit: Shangri-la 6/10 Okay, so the market reactions were insanely fast, but what little I grasped was realistic, so plus for that. However, what I really have to say is that 1080p on my 1920x1200 17" monitor is fucking sexy. |

Well I just watched 23/26 of Akagi What can i say...at the start it was boring as shit, then by episode 14 it got really good..and exciting..this episode had me talking to my computer saying "YOU CAN DO IT AKAGI!!!" |

| Soul Eater dropped it at 41/51 Same shit repeating itself again and again. The first half was 10 times better. Don't get why it's a popular anime. Might start it again though. MAYBE after i finish all the other anime on my 'plan to watch' list. And School Days is just pure insanity at the end. |

| In WTC, there are question and answer arcs. They appear out of order to fuck with the viewer. You have to figure out which join together. With "going back in time", you're actually referring to parallel universes. FYI, question and answer arcs take place in the same universes. S1 doesn't make sense. S2 is supposed to answer the questions. |
