Hello guys. So I've watched the entire series and I don't get the show. Maybe I miss some important parts but why were yui and Yukino looked so worried at the ending? Do they both love hachiman or something? I was so confused...

Judging from what i've seen (and from the other comments too) I think it's clear that they both like Hachiman. The real question would be how he really feels about them though. I mean, he obviously cares about them but is that all? I'm having a hard time trying to get what Hachiman really means with this "genuine" thing, I guess it's about finally having some friends who he can trust but I wonder if there's something more to it...
I guess we'll just have to wait (a long time) for S3 to come out and answer our questions...

Don't overthink anything. High school romance shit always end harem style. No choices made and everyone lives happily ever after (except perhaps the girls for not being chosen in the end)

A harem end will prevent all these dramas. I mean, how will you end this show now.
Man, sometimes I hate that I don't read LNs. Well, I'll just have to wait for the season 3.

Personally i think if they introduce romance they should follow it up until the end and make a proper ending of it as well, if not they should keep romance away.

Nothing satisfactory with harem endings. But it's important to make girl which will be chosen in the end look that much better or else there will be a hell of a lot of complaining.

I'm so confused with the ending. This series was actually really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I'm just super confused. Can someone explain to me what happened in the end? Like that last scene where they make their final requests and stuff.. What are they requesting? They're all acting like they're separating or something. Also, what's that problem that they are referring to that Yukino should solve by herself? Is it her identity crisis or what?

Help pls :$

Oi, mate, you haven't seen enough then. Fo examlpe: The World God Only Knows has a mega harem and choices are made(in the manga) and people get hurt n' shit and no happy cliffhanger like here.

GARBAGE.

That's what this season was for me.

Nothing but melodramatic bullshit with boring scenes and completely inane conversations from the very uninteresting characters.

Season 1 was at least intriguing and had it's fun moments.

This was just fucking awful.

If there is a season 3 I will definitely not bother.

Is it bad that I really despise Haruno? She just waltzes in, tells them all what they are since of course she is omniscient, and leaves everyone depressed, smiling all the while.

The last chapter of the last volume (11).

The reason for the cliffhanger is simple: there is no additional content to go on unless they pull an anime original, which presumably would have been negotiated with Watari at the beginning.

Lots of different things to process for the finale.

It is pretty much confirmed that each of the members of the service club knows how the other feels about each other. Basically

Yukino -----> Hachiman <----- Yui

Yukino and Yui have been tip-toeing around each other a lot and it comes to a head in the finale. It's hard to love a boy when your best and only friend also loves him. They both know the other likes Hikigaya. They both covet their friendship so much however that they cannot get closer to him.

Which is what we saw in the closing scene. Yui gives Hikigaya the chocolate, but the says she doesn't want things to change. It's selfish, but it is her character. Once things change in the service club there is no going back. If Yui or Yukino confess things drastically change.

Hikigaya of course doesn't want that. Genuine things are what he wants, no matter how painful. He too must be aware of how Yukino and Yui feel about him. Yet he isn't the one to make the first move on the girls. He wants Yukino, and by extension Yui, to solve their problems on their own first.

And that ending monologue by Yui makes me feel like the battle for Hikigaya is going to be a bloodbath. Like she said, she wants everything. She wants Hikki, she wants Yukino's friendship, she wants the club to stay together. I think Yukino is going to be resolved similarly.

Ugh my kokoro. Yukino or Yui is going to lose, and I'm going to be a mess after this is over. I root for Yukino, but now I really feel like Yui. I really wish there wouldn't be a resolution. This anime really does a good job of subverting the whole harem idea. It makes you think there can only be one winner when this is over.

Thanks for this! I really dont understand what happened in the end. I was shocked that, what the hell, just the second half part of the last episode, they were able to summarized all the feelings? what the.

soukaaa. all along they knew. well, thinking our logical hachiman. haiyyaaa. that's right. he knows all along. all of them knew where they stand all along. they are just maintaining the status quo.

gotta rewatch the last episode. do hope that they will make the season 3 soon. Gambatte! :))

After reading some posts in other forum I'm confused about Yui's proposal. In general there are 3 theories.
a) Yui wants to win 8man and force Yukino to keep being friend
b) Yui wants to keep status quo
c) Yui denies her own feeling for 8man and let Yukino be with him

All 3 seem to have contradiction.
a) In this case, inviting Yukino to the date and giving 8man friendship chocolate doesn't make sense. She practically friendzoned 8man
b) In this case, why did Yui say "it's the last request", implying she wants to break their current relationship
c) Seems to contradict her thinking "I'm not a nice girl, I'm cruel and unfair", this theory is nice girl in its fullest, sacrificing herself as usual

Any opinion?

It's A). She brought Yukino because she's selfish, and wants to keep her friendship with Yukino and still go out with 8man.

Oh my God, this series is so frustrating... Argh! I love it, but seriously... They can't just be honest with each other! They can't just say it clearly! Don't give me this whole "it's not genuine" and "they're better off this way" bullcrap. And then they end it like that without resolving ANYTHING?!!! Argh!!!

I called it, though. I knew, given the nature of this series, that he wouldn't end up with anyone. I guess there will be another season, though anything can happen (Haruhi season 3 never happened even though like 99% of anime fans want it...). If it ends like this, I'll be pissed. This is starting to get unrealistic. Seriously, at this point him being with both of them in a mutual loving relationship would be more realistic then continued vagueness even though they all know each others feelings. But who knows, both have been known to happen... But if I were Hikki, I would just freaking tell both of them, hey, I know how both of you feel about me. Can we please just stop dicking around with this bullshit vagueness and be open about it? It's not like it makes any difference whether you don't say it or not. I know. All of us know. So stop being dishonest and say it already! Both of you! If you don't, then I'll have to do more than just yell!!!

And seriously, if they weren't honest with their feelings then, I'd take them both to a love hotel.

I have finish to watch it yesterday and I think the season 2 is more intensive than 1. I really like it more and hope for a 3rd season ddeu to too many things are in the air I want to know what is "unique" for Hachiman and how both girls will help him. I thing there are possibilities due to the anime is popular, new (this season was made in Spring of this year) so could be a possibility. Hope for clear news about it.

I don't think the LNs ever go into detail about that incident. Hikki just mentions it as a matter of fact without describing why he did it or how he felt at that time.

Though if you are interested, there is a fanfic about that...

Why did Yui mean at the end? Something about being able to solve yukinons problem, and being able to change the group? Can someone explain the last scene?

If hikigaya was to fall in love with one, I bet it would be Yuki. There weren't any feelings from both sides from the beginning (Yui already liked Hikki), they just started to appear along the eps. I guess Hikki also developed some "unknown" feelings for Yuri. The problem is that Hikki knows that both like him and that he can't choose one. He doesn't want to. He always avoided problems and this is one. He wants to be honest with all this stuff but he can't hold the idea of hurting anyone. So he probably won't choose and he'll move away from them again like he always does. Idk, this will be a tough decision. I really hope they make a 3rd season. I'm new to this anime stuff but I don't see any reason for this to be the end. Each episode was way more about talking then about happening. This is a slow anime per say so there's still a lot that can be said/made.

I feel it will be Yukinon in the end also. What you said in this, so he realizes that they both like him? Throughout the series they drop some hints they do and a few really good ones. But your explanation helps explain the ending of the last episode of season two...

Well. He did ask Yui to go on a date with him while they were walking to the Service Club. He also immediately accepted the date when Yui brought it up again, and was surprised to see Yukino there. He even asked Yui whether it was really fine (for her to be there, a third wheel on their date).

Of course, there could be plenty of alternative explanations for these actions, so it may not actually be that he's in love with Yui. After all, 8man never explicitly states that he loves anyone, other than Totsuka and Komachi... and Zaimokuza during the culture fest (as a joke?)..

Well , i really hate that cliffhanger... but i like the way they ended it. Aquarium, nice way to end it. felt nice. i kinda understand what they were trying to say/do in the ending , but i don't understand it... i don't know , it's hard to put it into words. Yui's mom was funny too, i like the personality(now that's a mother).

Overall , good series. i love it, i enjoy it so much like i watched the first season, but that cliffhanger really got me. that was the cruel way to make me want to read the LN. But i still hope for another season. there's still a possibility for s3 if the LN sell well.9/10

Damn, it's over. Left with a cliffhanger also.
Really hope this gets a season 3, the story and plot development is 11/10 off the charts with the drama and emotional affliction towards the viewers, it's beautiful.

Gotta love that 8man mask on the OP though. ;^) HE'S BECOMING A TRUE HERO, JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE HE GETS YUI AND YUKINON.

Great episode too, wrapping up the season by leaving an emphasis on Yukinon's non-directed personality, and Yui's selfish personality. Yui gave her a chance at the end, BUT HACHI THE MAN SAVES THE DAY. The theme portrayal and closure of the season was beautiful here, absolutely amazing.

11/10 - Best Anime of the season imo.
