Every "episode" has a Part A and Part B. They were shown on different days which would technically make this anime 78 episodes if considering 1 day=1 episode but for the sake of reflecting episode titles via Wikipedia and the official DVD release, both Part A and B will be listed as a single episode. Any episode=11 min 20 sec duration Part A/B of any episode=5 min 40 sec duration The final episode, 39, had a 20 minute long duration. Thus making its Part A/B ~10 min long. During its run the anime had several Omnibus (Soushuuhen) TV airings. While a typical shoushuuhen is a recap, these airings were the regular episodes shown back to back with no edits; as such they do get their own DB entry. Chronologically: The first ran from May 07, 2001 - July 19, 2001 covering episode 1-18 in 10 minute or 20 minute broadcasts (ex. May 07th covered ep 1-2 in 20 min while May 10th covered ep 7 in 10 min); there were 12 total airings. The second ran from August 23, 2001 - August 30, 2001 which covered episode 1-18 again but this time in 40 minute broadcasts; there were 5 total airings. The third ran from October 01, 2001 - December 13, 2001 which covered 19-36 in 10 minute or 20 minute broadcasts; there were 11 total airings. The fourth ran from December 17, 2001 - January 22, 2002 covering ep 19-39 in 40 minute broadcasts; there were 10 total airings. | You had to re-submit only four of them iirc. Everything else was taken care of. You can put any message/notes, or source links within the More Info field for the moderator to look at. These will be removed upon approval. I am asking in case you have the DVD's at hand and can confirm/provide pictures for the titles, etc. But if you are going by the list on the anido page, than yeah, nothing much you can do, beyond doing your own research on the net. That is not mandatory of course, but would be helpful. Especially with the more obscure works. |

There are no ghosts in the film, it's all in Anna's head. She even says that part was through the film (when she's talking to Sayaka), she knew that none of it was real. It's why Anna kept having these mental warps and memory loss and passing out. And why she started struggling to self-insert herself into her grandmother's stories like in the silo and why all the new dialogue between the two was about Anna's subconscious thoughts of being alone and scared. I should note that the film also mentioned Marnie had a mental illness as well. It was the reason why Anna's mom was abandoned (so Marnie could be in a sanatorium) and why Marnie eventually died. So it looks like mental illness runs in the family. I agree with Akarin's addition of "mystery"; there was sleuthing about who Marnie was and uncovering Anna's past. |
