How about some manga recommendations for me? I can't make up my mind what to start reading, so some 10 or 20 suggestions what to prioritize would come in handy. The only two requirements I ask for, is that the manga should be finished, and that if possible, doesn't have an anime adaptation (not counting OVA promo material like Battle Angel Alita).

I haven't read that many titles, so I think it should be fairly easy to get the gist of things I like based on my completed list (the on-hold list is somewhat a mess, so the completed list is a better reference).

About 5 of the things I was going to recommend were already on your list, so I think my recommendations are aligned with your interests.
Completed: Great Teacher Onizuka (and Shonan Junai Gumi), Kiseijuu (Parasyte), Solanin, Oyasumi Punpun, Tekkon Kinkreet, not simple, Chikan Otoko (Molester Man), Makai no Ossan, Witches, Hideout, Yami no Koe, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Ikigami

Ongoing: Berserk (?!??!), Kingdom, One Punch Man, I Am a Hero, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, Real

I would recommend:
- Gunslinger Girl
- Konjiki no Gash Bell
- xxxholic
- Monster
- 20+21th century boys
- Lone wolf and cub <<<
- Blade of Immortal (If you like vagabond, I prefer BoI btw)
- Beck
- Adolf (And please vote in the thread if you think its enlightening =p)
- Eagle
- Saishuu Heiki Kanojo
- Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
- Onani master kurosawa
- All Jojo!!

and my personal reccomendation: ALL OF ADACHI MITSURU'S WORKS =3

If it's good and I like it I don't mind if a serie is very long. It's been a while since I've seen one

Why not check out Ghost in the Shell SAC? It's a different interpretation of the setting compared to Oshii's take in the movies. Also, you've seen TTGL but not Gunbuster, that's something you will probably want to change in the near future. Gankutsuou is great too, an exotic sci-fi take on the original Monte Cristo novel. How about Simoun, an outstanding coming of age story masked as a lesbian slumber party with questionable CGI. Since you liked Cowboy Bebop, why not try the other most western stylized show, The Big O?

Hope that helped somewhat.

Thanks for the recommendations; I haven't even heard of some of these works you've mention. Thats a real anime veteran right there.

Sports series (I don't care what the sport is, though football/soccer is preferable), added bonus if there is a touch of romance.
I'm talking manga here, not anime.
Any suggestions?

Ahh, sports manga, the topic where I can finally shine:
- Captain Tsubasa (the original, road to 2000, and world youth)
- Eyeshield 21
- Rookies (baseball)
- All rounder meguru (MMA)
- Yowamushi pedal & over drive(cycling)
- RRR (boxing)
- Baby steps (Tennis)
- Haikyu!! (volleyball)
- Adachi Mitsuru's works (Touch, Katsu!, H2)
- Harlem Beat (basketball). Since you like Prince of Tennis, I figure you might like this one
- Bowling King

as for football, there are:
- Giant Killing, one of the best imho. Unique intake on football as it focus on the whole club (player, manager, staff, and even fans).
- Area no Kishi (the mild version of captain tsubasa)
- Whistle! (starts out great, but end rather bland)
- Fantasista

and lastly, Ahiru No Sora (basketball). My most beloved manga <3
Oh, and FYI, "Jojo part 7: steel ball run" is also considered as a sport manga =3

I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking "did he fire six shots or only five?" Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

Sasameke is actually good, but good luck finding scans of it, pretty sure they are hard to come by. The art is really wacky and it is inconclusive without its sequel Sasanaki, but it has some endearing slice of life elements and interesting characters, plus it made me laugh out loud numerous times which is hard to do for me with manga. Despite the MC being an egotistical ball hog d-bag, it's always a nail biter waiting for him to get a goal after all the crap that's been going on in his life, it's really enticing.

Yeah, Sasameke is pretty hilarious, but the scans only reach around vol.2.

My first post here. I think I'm just in the beginning of my journey through good anime, so I want something new to my taste, pretty unique. I think LoGH would be a good example of unique show, I watched the movies and now watching the main OVA. That's basically what I'm looking for. Not something like LoGH itself, but something unique and surprisingly good, that I'm not used to. I think I need an enlightenment. Thanks...

Yeah, in North America they had 2 omnibuses for Sasameke (2.5 volumes in each), but I imagine due to poor sales they won't release Sasameki and Sasanaki which is upsetting :/

Let's see now...your favourites seem rather action-oriented, so try:
-R.O.D the TV
-Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen
-RahXephon (although people tend to be torn on it, I'll let you decide)
-Casshern Sins
-Nurarihyon no Mago
-Kaiba
-Hunter X Hunter 1999 -> OVA 1 -> episode 59 of 2011 yadda yadda
-Evangelion (same with RahXephon)
-Utena
-GetBackers
-Eureka Seven (weaker than RahXephon with similar polarizing tendencies, but I still liked it)
-Rose of Versailles

It does. She uses her ballet dancing skills to operate that...mecha thing. It's a mostly good anime. It wasn't my thing too much and the plot was kinda shaky, bur Rin is a pretty good lead and the anime's overall OK. And not to mention the OST, especially the ED (ignoring the male vocal).

hello..I want some recommendation...please, I hope my english isn't extremely bad

First of all I need to say I am not a very "anime/manga" person, yes I have watched and read few things, mostly because I have no interest in what I see, but I wish I could have more series iin my list. since My list is very small (despite from the fact that I know the existence of a lot of series) I am going to explain What I am looking for better:

I like shounen and seinen most. I like to see different things, different plot ideas, character designs (bonus point), surrealism (not aiming for horror), good development of characters and a interesting story as well.

About seinen If possible, PLEASE, don't suggest me something with gore, horror or sex, it's ok for me to see (sometimes) but I just don't want to, I am tired of explicit horror/gore/sex elements in psychologic stories so please don't even suggest me. It would be cool not see something very slice of life too.

about shonen It's being very hard to find a shounen that dont follow the same style of most famous ones like naruto, bleach, fairy tail, attack on titan, sword art online. I am looking for a really more complete interesting characters and not the one dimension charas that are clichê. Also I am running away from the clichê. A shounen that I really enjoyed is the manga Mob psycho 100, you read more for the story and characters development than for the fight scenes itself (that are few if compared with various shounen titles in overall), plus, most of the characters are very interesting, and not something simple, plain

I also enjoy obscure things too (in terms of popularity)

The first series that popped straight into my mind here was Kingdom. It is one of my favorites, and it has great character development and an interesting story. It is a wee bit like a shounen, but not like the mainstream shounen that you have listed, and it isn't categorized as such on MAL. It's also labelled as a seinen.

Fun, I'm an expert on having it at least! Hahaha! Well, first things first. I suggest dropping the shows that you're not having fun with (From that "2" score it looks like forcing yourself to watch Guilty Crown.) Don't force yourself. The shows that I've seen are Gunslinger Girls, Planetes, and Hajime no Ippo.

Gunslinger Girl is serious and makes you think about the difficult situation that the girls have to deal with and how it's handled by the adults. It's not fun, positive, or uplifting but it does ask some serious questions and deal with issues that may keep you invested. I personally did not enjoy this series overall and I enjoyed the second one even less.

Planetes had parts where I literally laughed out loud (the whole smoking episode) or had a huge smile on my face. The first half is more comedic and the likable cast of characters really shine. They all have their moments. Seeing Robbie and Philippe act like goofballs always made me smile. Gigalt serving as a mentor to some characters was a pleasure to watch. For some reason it's hard to put in to words why I enjoyed this show but this is one of my all time favorites. Some smiles were from the beauty of space and the way the world was handled and others were from the many characters doing their thing or defying my expectations.

Ippo took me a bit to get into but now that I'm invested it's great. The humor never fails to make me smile and it's a blast to watch the varied fights. The show mixes things up and makes you root for both fighters in the ring. Of course I want our protagonist to win but by making the other fighters sympathetic you can't help but cheer them on too. I want both of them to give their best and when they surprise each other it get's my blood pumping. The show really is solid entertainment. I have a feeling of excitement and motivation like I'm watching Gurren Lagann. It helps that I'm working out when I'm watching Ippo too. When the coach cheers Ippo or the other boxers on I get motivated too! It's an uplifting and positive experience.

Yup, that's all I have. I hope you find what suits you best. :)

I suggest you take a look at our enlightenment list and check out some of the more modern, mainstream and accessible titles such as Cowboy Bebop, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Mawaru Penguindrum.

Thanks half the series on my list are ones i watched along time and cant remember the score i would give them but everything on my list are ones i liked so they would be around 7-9, seen Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Mawaru Penguindrum, forgot to add them
