| Author intentions that didn't made it into the work are just that - intentions. You may reasonably say: "hey, you need to know some basic history of our civilization / read classics / grow up to understand this work" - because of the used symbols/allusions/whatever, but that's it. Authors themselves discover new meanings in their own work all the time, if they keep learning and growing - did they not understand their own work then when they created it? In a way, they did not. Of course, interpretation may depend on the world view too so the like-minded people might interpret it in a way more similar to the author's own interpretation... or not. And does author really have one interpretation? Some authors say there's a specific message, some don't think/speak in those terms at all. SQ v wrote better what i wanted to say but failed: "It's not like the author can go into your home and tell you" ๐ |

| First and foremost reading/watching something is a subjective experience. It doesn't matter what you're writing about, the writer has no control over the reader's interpretation. It's not like the author can go into your home and tell you "hey, I wrote this character to be this certain way, this was my writing process and research, and for those reasons that is why this story is the way it is." All you have is the writers story and the reader will interpret it based on what information the writer does or does not give and based on that readers perspective. Does that mean the story loses it's meaning? No, that's the beauty of a good story. Two people can read/watch the same story and have differing thoughts, and all thoughts are legitimate. I don't really believe the writers intentions are the most important thing imo. What is the first thing you do before you start your day? |

Considering that my prepared Pierogi with meat/Chicken wings in coating or something else from fridges in a grocery store which I buy for eating [easy to make for someone of my cooking skills + those pierogis are hella delicious] + I counted also by the price of buying around 2 liters of coca cola every 2nd day, it is around 329,7, by every week I buy around 2-3 packages of chips so around 20 zลoty a week which is 80 a month + by every 2 weeks I would buy a 6-pack of beer which would be around 25 zลoty [without checking the prices so maybe cheaper maybe more] which give us around 434,7 zลoty and that is 108,48 US dollars. Do you think there's an element that makes a medium inherently "deeper" or preferable to others? I see this take with VN fans that their medium is filled with complex stories(this is mostly a lie) therefore making their medium the best or most profound. |

| IMO the easiest way to make a story look deep is to simply bring up the classic problems of our society. After that it doesn't matter if you can do anything meaningful with that topic, the story will be praised and called provocative, while usually the author has zero personal experience in the topic they are writing about. But elements that universally elevate the quality of something? I can't think of anything. If Steam ever shuts down, what do you think will happen to it's games? Will they allow players to continue using their games without their platform? As those games are DRM protected which means even if you have them downloaded on your computer, you can't play them without logging in to Steam to authenticate your right to use them. |
